Item #: SCP-4458
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4458 is to be placed in a small fire-resistant case stored in Site-██. All transportation of SCP-4458 must be done while the object is still in its case, due to the anomaly of the object.
Description: SCP-4458 is an algebra textbook produced in 1999 by ████████-████ ███████. The textbook is made out of heavy stock paper for the cover and a lighter stock for the inner pages. The content of the inner pages is non-anomalous, showing the same content as the ordinary counterpart. All attempts to disassemble SCP-4458 have proven unsuccessful, as the inner pages have shown to be rip-resistant and fire-resistant. As such, all attempts to discard of SCP-4458 have been rejected.
The effect of SCP-4458 is most prevalent in children or teens. Once an adolescent looks at SCP-4458, they will attempt to destroy everything around the textbook. The affected individual will use anything available to cause as much damage as possible. Whenever another object (or human) is not around, the affected individual will attempt to commit suicide through whatever means possible. The effect on adults, however, is easily resisted and not as major.
Recovery: SCP-4458 was recovered at ████████ Middle School on Jun. ██, 20██ after a student discovered the book and started viciously attacking staff members, equipment, and other students. The student, ████ █████, was apprehended later on in the day. Foundation personnel were called to the school after the student admitted that "the algebra book in the workroom made me do it". The child, staff, and other onlookers were administered amnestics and then released.
