Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be kept in a standard object containment cell built to resemble a typical Suburban lawn, and monitored by the use of cameras. Description SCP-XXX is a homestead mailbox with the address [REDACTED] emblazoned on it. SCP-XXX is attached to a white post which not anomalous except that it can not be separated from SCP-XXX in any way.

SCP-XXX appears to be a normal mailbox until humans are in its presence. Once one or more human(s) is within 250 m. of it, SCP-XXX will raise its flag and any individual within its perimeter will develop an intense suggestive belief that they need to open SCP-XXX and either deposit or take mail from it. This suggestion can be ignored, but it is incredibly difficult to do so.

Once an individual has opened SCP-XXX and put their hand inside of it, they will become incapable of removing their hand and are now referred to as SCP-XXX-1. SCP-XXX will begin pulling inside SCP-XXX-1 inside of itself and consuming them. This process typically takes 23-24 hours and causes SCP-XXX-1 extreme pain. After consuming the individual SCP-XXX will lower its flag and go into a dormant state until another human comes across it.

Adendum If SCP-XXX does not consume any human after a year’s time, SCP-XXX will disappear from its current location and relocate to the nearest possible mailbox or occupied house.
