Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
(ancient depiction of subject)
Special containment procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in site 48, the Welsh division, at all times, kept in a standard four by four metre cell to be able to accommodate for the changes in size that may occur. During the month of July no contact should be made with the subject. There must be no tests, and no transfers during this time period. Even looking at the subject is advised against. Due to this fact, the subject should be moved into a smaller cell with no windows near to the end of June. Subject can only be contained after it has embodied a host. In the event that the subject does not have a host, one will be volunteered or provided at any cost.
Description SCP-XXXX has no physical embodiment until finding itself a suitable host. Once in the presence of a host that meets its demands it will slowly take control, first changing behavioral patterns before fully taking over the host. this is a process that takes 5 days to complete. in the rare case of the entity jumping from one host to another, the old body will be rendered useless and therefore left, killing the original host in the process.
In regular circumstances, a fully possessed host will be a void black color, the only features present being 2 glowing red eyes. In an enraged state, the subject may form branch like structures on it's head, back, fore arms and shins, varying depending on the severity of the situation.
When in a physical state, SCP-XXXX acts more like an animal, only being able to communicate with a certain set of growls, although it does show understanding to the English language, more so to traditional Welsh. It is by no means smart but understands basic instruction and is usually complicit without the need of much force. It prefers to play with it's food much like that of animalistic nature, especially when given live food, enjoying the hunt more than the actual sustenance from our studies. It seems to have no purpose to itself other than it's pursuit of those who disrespect it's place of origin. It's behavioural patterns show no real internal goal other than basic survival.
Cases of SCP-XXXX date as far as 1000 years, with ancient writings depicting a Welsh "legend" more commonly known as the Angelystor. brought about by the 2000 year old yew tree of llangernyw, the legend describes this entity killing people who journey near there in the specific month of July. With research into the matter, we have concluded that the subject does indeed become enraged when these specific circumstances are met, becoming extremely difficult to contain. Although it takes a certain disrespect of the mentioned yew tree to fully enrage the subject.
It is unknown regarding the origins of the entity.
