SCP Number: 5942

Object Class: Safe

Description: SCP 5942 also known as “Monarch Blades” is a mass of unknown metallic material that is in a constant liquid state until it has made contact with a living human. Once a human has touched the metallic liquid it will begin to swirl around the subject’s body and then end into the hand of the subject. Once it has reached this state a bladed weapon will start to materialize. There are two forms that have been classified as SCP 5942-A and SCP 5942-B.
5942-A is a weapon form that is held by the user and can be easily removed. 5942-B is a weapon form that is morphed with the subjects body and the only effective, and known, way of removing SCP 5942-B from the subjects is by termination or amputation.
SCP 5942-A/B will stay in the weapon state until the wielder has died and/or if the wielder is 50 feet (15 meters) away from SCP 5942-A. When one of these two events occur SPC 5942 will begin to liquify and return to its original state. The liquid volume of SCP 5942 cannot be accurately recorded due to the constant change of the volume when it returns to its liquid state but is averaged to have recorded it to be at around 1 - 2 gallons.

Containment Procedures: SCP 5942 is to be locked in a glass container that can hold a liquid volume of 5 gallons and locked in a 20 feet by 20 feet concrete walled room. It must be under constant surveillance. At least two guards must be posted on the outside of SCP 5942’s contained room.

Experiment Procedures: To perform experiments on SPC 5942 there are two different procedures depending on the type of experiments that will be carried out.
To access and perform physical experiments on SCP 5942 Level 3 security clearance must first be given. After clearance has been given scientists must wear a full hazmat suit to prevent any accidental merging with the SPC. Only a maximum, 2 quarts, of SCP 5942 is allowed to be taken and experimented on.

Merging tests must be performed in a secure room that is located in an undisclosed underground testing room outside of the SCP Organization Sites.
The Class D personnel are to be seated in the middle of the room while a guard delivers the SCP in a small container which is to be placed at the other end of the room. Four guards are to be positioned at each corner of the room and have their weapons trained on the Class D Personnel. Class D is then to rise from their seat and interact with the SCP. Once merging is complete more tests can be performed. These tests typically include fighting ability with the SCP, durability, etc.

Origin: SCP 5942 was located in the state of New Mexico. It was first discovered by a man who came across the metallic liquid accidentally by stepping in it. That is when the merging process happened and the form it took on the man was SCP 5942-B. Once this had happened he went to the hospital and that is when the SCP Foundation was contacted. Everyone in the hospital were told to evacuate the building and SCP 5942-B was quickly examined and doctors suggested to amputate the merged arm. After the the surgical procedure was complete SCP 5942 returned into its liquid state, contained, and was brought back to the organization.
