Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, it is impossible alter its location with current Foundation means without considerable exposure risk from the Foundation. At the same time immediate civilian evacuation its area of effect is as well logistically challenging, difficult to justify publicly, and runs the risk of “Driving away” SCP-XXXX as human beings consist of both its main prey and its main means to remain hidden.
As a result, a section of down town Mexico city extending 2 blocks in every cardinal direction from the “feeding grounds” of SCP-XXXX (on delegation Tlalpan, from ██ South to ██ North and from ██ Orient to ██ Ponient, occupying a total of 16 city blocks and 230,400 sq. ms.) has been denominated SCP-XXX-B and site 210 has begun construction within it, occupying a building previously housing the Sacos e hilos plásticos Nuñes S.A. de C.V. company headquarters, a shipping material distributor and foundation front.
As of now, personnel assigned to site 210 is tasked with the following directives in decreasing order of priority:
- To observe and study the nature and behavior of SCP-XXXX for the purposes of developing a more comprehensive means of containment.
- To prevent SCP-XXXX from feeding on the civilian population or on Foundation personnel, by attempting to predict “feeding events” utilizing observations of SCP-XXXX behavioral patterns as well as local meteoritical and astrological patterns. And to intervene with feeding event when possible through the deployment of Moville Taskforce 210 “Body-Snatchers” who are tasked with the performance of procedure 40-longpig (For a full description of procedure 40-longpig, Site 210 personnel not yet briefed by their direct superior may request the 40-longpig manual in the office of Ltd.Rubio).
- To attemp to acquire all buildings within SCP-XXX-B under the pretense of the development of the area as a new manufacturing complex for the Sacos e hilos plásticos Nuñes S.A. de C.V. company, as to quietly relocate all civilians from the area.
- To re-populate the SCP-XXXX-B area with Foundation personal assigned to work in site 210, at a rate similar to that of the evacuation of the local civilian population.
- To expand the infrastructure of site 79, to prepare it for the eventual final containment of SCP-XXXX as well as any other Anomalous entities that might be found within the immediacies of Mexico City and its surrounding urban zone.
As to avoid danger to Foundation personnel, all personnel assigned to Site 210 (with the exception of D-Class personnel, if they are to be assigned to the site in the future) are to be made aware of SCP-XXXX´s particular means of mimesis prior to their relocation to the site, independently of their current security clearance level.
No personnel of any class or designation is to be assigned to site 210, without first participating and passing Dr.Trujillo´s Dedicated Mimetic Resistance Enhancement (DMRE-2018) class, and scoring at the very least a 4 in the Dedicated Mimetic Predatory Detection (DMPD-2108) test.
As of ██/██/18 another Foundation mimetic resistance tests and courses, not deigned to take into account SCP-XXXX specific form of mimetic behavior, are not considered an adequate substitute to the previously mentioned.
All Foundation personnel assigned to site 210 are to be surgically provided with a foundation proprietary S-2W (Silent-two-way-communicator) cochlear implant, lodge into the temporal bone behind the left ear.
Under no circumstances are any in-site personnel (with the exception of MTF 210) to publicly acknowledge the anomalous properties of instances of SCP-XXXX-1, even among themselves when not inside site 210, and specially not directly to an instance of SCP-XXXX-1, as this is understood to be the main trigger of non-ordinary “Feeding events”. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be interacted with as if their mimetic properties were in full effect, that is to say, as if they were regular local civilians. Personnel forced to interact with instances of SCP-XXXX-1 in regular bases, are urged to document and inform pertinent researchers of their observations of discrepancies in SCP-XXXX-1 “Disguise”. And under no circumstances are any foundation personnel to run within the presence of instances of SCP-XXXX-1, specially during a “Feeding Event”, as SCP-XXXX seems to possess a predatory reflex to chase running prey, and this might cause a massive “Feasting-Event” (see event █████.12 below).
During a “Feeding Event” a site-wide silent alarm is to be activated via the S-2W implant, initiating pertinent personnel evacuations and the deployment of MTF 210. In the case that SCP-XXXX chooses a member of Foundation personnel as its prey, site control is to transmit pertinent instructions to the subject through these same means, including but not limited to: escape routes, estimations of the time until MTF 210 arrival, and medical and psychological assistance.
This set of procedures are to be replicated as closely as possible in the case of another instance of SCP-XXXX to be found near any massive population centers around the glove. Although at this time it seems unlikely.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous predatory animal, believed to belong to, or be closely related to, animals of the phylum Cnidaria, subphylum Medusozoa. Ultra-violet imaging has revealed it to possess some physical resemblances with the Scyphozoa or True Jellyfish.
Most of its differences are directly related to its anomalous proprieties.
Its size is much bigger than even the biggest recorded marine jellyfish, with a bell with a diameter of around 25 meters and tentacles extending up to 400 meters long. SCP-XXXX is not a marine animal and is capable of “flying” through means that are nor currently understood but are strongly suspected to be related to its bodies chemical composition and apparent control of atmospheric patterns. Additionally, SCP-XXXX does not “Drift” without a course as its marine counterparts do and seems to be territorial in nature, preferring to overfly big population centers, making concentric “laps” around a specific area designated SCP-XXXX-A.
SCP-XXXX possesses some other anomalous physical characteristics, namely the presence of a poorly understood tube-like organ than spirals around its bell, which with it seems to be able to control atmospheric patterns around its body and its area of influence. SCP-XXXX usually uses this ability as a means of camouflage, to obscure its main body and the general visibility in its “hunting Grounds”, especially during a “Feeding event”.
Lastly, SCP-XXXX possesses between 80 and 140 specialized tentacles, which descend from its bell and are its main means of hunting. Each one of these tentacles, designated SCP-XXXX-1, is capable of imitating, through limited memetic effects and natural physiological adaptations, the appearance of non-anomalous human beings. Down to clothing, behavior and in some as of yet un-corroborated cases, even speech.
SCP-XXXX mainly prays on human beings. Its method of capturing prey consists in gaining the subjects trust through several non-aggressive social encounters, which my extend over a couple days and up to a recorded 2 years, until the time when SCP-XXXX needs to feed. At this point SCP-XXXX will wait for an appropriated moment, usually a poorly illuminated night, preferably during a new moon, and preferably during a storm, when a “Feeding Event” may begin. At this point it will attract its prey to a secluded location and then attack it, injecting a powerful neurotoxin within the victim´s body, effectively rendering it into a vegetative state. Then the instance of SCP-XXX-1, sometimes by itself and sometimes with the help of other “tentacles” will abduct the prey and raise it up to the creature´s bell, where it will begin to digest it.
The digestion process of SCP-XXXX can last to up to █ years, during much of which its pray might remain alive and even conscious, and rescue missions might be attempted.
SCP-XXXX may capture up to 10 living prey during a single “Feeding event” and in the case of special circumstances, it has been observed to capture up to 48 people in a single night (See addendum below).
Despite its ability to successfully imitate the behavior of groups of people, and effectively “infiltrate” big population centers, at this point SCP-XXXX it is not believed to possess sentience, and instead is hypothesized that its capable of this, exclusively by instinct, and its memetic faculties. Thus, its Euclid classification.
Discovery and event █████.12: SCP-XXXX first came into the foundations attention while surveying areas near Mexico City with the objective of stablishing a permanent research site in the vicinity. During the night of ██/██/15, reconnaissance group 209 “American tourists”, was present near of SCP-XXXX´s hunting grounds during a feeding event. The subsequent attempt of intervention from RG 209 caused the as of jet only instance of a “Feasting-Event” when agents S████ ███████ and L█ ████████ █████████ where attacked by the biggest number of simultaneously active SCP-XXX-1 instances ever recorded. Although many of the details of the encounter are still unclear, subsequent investigation by the foundation suggested that up to 48 individuals where “abducted” by the creature during the night. Foundation personal implemented standard I-11 “Flash flood” cover story, and research begun on the containment of SCP-XXX.
Although a rescue attempt was conducted via helicopter, both agents S and L were discovered to have been KIA, the first one having her neck broken during abduction and the second one [REDACTED].
Diring this rescue mission foundation operatives rescued ██ living individuals that were currently traped inside SCP-XXXX´s bell, and dicovered evidence of others having being inside of it for an extended period of time estimated to be around █ years. Rescued individuals were given Class A-Amnestics where possible and reintegrated to civilian population, while those more sevearlly damaged by the proces where euthanized.
Addendum 1. Reports of speech: During routine research of local police records, foundation investigators came upon the report of an event consistent with a SCP-XXXX Feeding event. During the night of XX/XX/12, local police arrested a group of teenagers for consuming alcoholic beverages in a public area (a convenience store´s parking lot), along with an un-identified adult male who had allegedly offered to buy the alcohol for them. According to the police records at least one of the teenagers (identified as Alejandro ██████, a local university student and musician) warned against taking this subject with them, warning “He is a liar and a "████████"”. But was reportedly “too intoxicated to explain at detail what he meant”.
The officers in charge of the arrest suspected foul play in the part of the subject and, once in precinct XX of the metropolitan police, they proposed that he stayed in a different jailcell that the teenagers (as they would all pass the night in jail). This calmed Mr. Alejandro visibly, aiding to the perception of the officers that the subject had threatened or in some other way attacked the kid. At this point the subject verbally voiced his disappointment with the measure, and then reportedly used “broken Spanish” to say to Mr. Alejandro "Porqué [REDACTED]" which rughlly translates to "Why [REDACTED]". It is written as well that the voice of the man sounded sickly. This caused the officers to propose to run a medical test on the subject, looking for drugs on its system. It is believed that this suggestion caused the subsequent Feeding Event during which ██ police personnel were abducted by SCP-XXX. Fortunately, the group of teenagers was already locked up in a jail cell, and SCP-XXXX was either incapable or unwilling to attempt to take them.

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature and location of SCP-XXXX, containment involving its relocation or the immediate evacuation of the nearby civilian population is at this time impossible with current Foundation resource.

Addendum: 3 As of ██/05/18 in-site personnel are strictly forbidden from acknowledging the presence of SCP-XXX-1 instances, including within the premises of site 210. Instead personnel discovering the abnormalities are to file an adequate report with 2 out of the 5 4 class personnel in site, selected at random.

Down to clothing and general behavior.
Addendum 1.2: SCP-XXXX-1 instances have been found to possess some limited memetic abilities, although these alone would not be enough to hide or disguise its presence, they seem to be used as a “backup” or “support” for its natural camouflage.
Addendum: 4 There has been an as of yet un-confirmed report of at least one instance of SCP-XXXx-1 “Speaking”. Weather this was another form of mimesis SCP-XXXX is capable of, or an actual attempt at communication is still unclear.
SCP-XXXX mainly prays on human beings. At this point SCP-XXXX will wait for an appropriated moment when a “Feeding Event” may begin.
Addendum: 5 Probabilities of a Feeding event increase exponentially during circumstances that obscure the vision of its prey, this might include but are not limited to: night, heavy precipitation, sun eclipses, heavy pollution and the new moon.
At this point it will attract its prey to a secluded location with the intention of attacking it. SCP-XXXX seems to possess a predatory reflex to chase running prey, and this might cause a massive “Feasting-Event” (see event █████.12 below) if the prey tries to scape.

Discovery and only recorded Feasting Event:
SCP-XXXX first came into the foundations attention while surveying areas near Mexico City with the objective of stablishing a permanent research site in the vicinity. During the night of ██/██/17, reconnaissance group 209 “American tourists” was present near of SCP-XXXX´s hunting grounds during a feeding event. The subsequent attempt of intervention from RG 209 caused the as of yet only instance of a “Feasting-Event” when agents S████ ███████ and L█ ████████ █████████ where attacked by the biggest number of simultaneously active SCP-XXX-1 instances ever recorded.
Although many of the details of the encounter are still unclear, subsequent investigation by the foundation suggested that up to 48 individuals where “abducted” by the creature during the night. Although a rescue attempt was conducted via helicopter, both agents S and L were discovered to have been KIA, the first one having her neck broken during abduction and the second one [REDACTED].
During this rescue mission foundation operatives rescued ██ living individuals that were currently trapped inside SCP-XXXX´s bell and discovered evidence of others having being inside of it for an extended period of time estimated to be around █ years. Addendum 4.1.1: Under orders of Site Director Dr.Tochtli the following information have been classified under the previously stated Security Clearance:
Note from Dr.Tochtli:
I have decided to classify the complete report for two reasons:
- To prevent our general personnel from living under the stress of the possibility.
- In the case of it being corroborated in some way in the future, to prevent any of them from discovering we know.
I have personally selected every one of you, not only from your grate accomplishments, but for your record. You 5 are solid. This site will not see any promotions above Clearance Level 3 in the foreseeable future, I trust you all understand why.
Dr.Tochtli
Foreword: According to the police report recovered from the destroyed police precinct ██, when officer Gutierrez suggested that the subject suspected to be an instance SCP-XXXX-1 stayed in a different jail cell from the group of teenagers, the subject expresses the following:
Officer Gutierrez: -translated- No, let’s put hi mover there he can calm down over there
Subjec: -translated, subject sounds sickly, lethargic and its cadence is inconsistent- No, I worked so hard, it’s not fair
At this point the report states the subject attempted to physically attack Mr. Alejandro, moving rapidly toward him, but was restrained by several police officers.
Subject -translated, directed at Mr. Alejandro- You… It’s you… you told on me, I was starving! I’ll kill you! You traitor nobody tells on me!
Mr. Alejandro: translated You liar! You said one! One! You fucking crazy animal! Get him away from me! I don’t know you!
At this point the teenagers were ushered into a jail cell, and the subject into the infirmary, with the objective of performing a medical exam looking for the presence of drugs in its system. Two hours later the precinct was attacked by a high number of SCP-XXXX-1 instances. Subsequent investigation into the event revealed that the teenager group, as well as most of the other prisoners of the precinct were protected from the attack, and only ██ police officers were abducted with other ██ being killed by dismemberment of anaphylactic shock. Mr. Alejandro was not among the survivors, originally believed to have been abducted while been taken to the bathroom until the discovery of this report. No knowledge of Mr. Alejandro or his where abouts have been discovered by the foundation ever since.
