Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5230 is to be contained in a rubberized room with absolutely no electrical outlets of any sort. Only when testing SCP-5230 can it be transferred under armed guard to an isolated room with exactly one (1) outlet. Testing must be done with the express written approval of no less than three (3) Level 4 personnel and the presence of the Project Manager and one (1) Level 4 employee.

Description: SCP-5230 is an electric, handheld back massager approximately 25.4cm x 12.2cm at the massage plate and the handles are approximately 20.3cm x 7.8cm. SCP-5230 has the ability to liquefy the muscle group it is placed on while powered, leaving any subject exposed unable to move the affected area; this effect can be temporary if intensive physical therapy is used on the subject. Most regain near-total muscle control within seven (7) years, depending on the fitness level on the subject. The subjects who have recovered from exposure to SCP-5230 have a markedly anomalous ability to perceive muscle fibers in other beings, including non-anomalous humans and creatures. The subjects who were not treated with PT have shown no signs of recovery, with two (2) dying from the lack of diaphragm and tracheal muscles, respectively. Interestingly, no pain of any sort is reported by any of the subjects; instead describing a warm, pleasant sensation one subject likened to a hot stone massage.
