Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-4327 is to be keep in a 3 by 3 by 3 meter safe with 4cm thick walls, in site-[REDACTED]. Behind two 5-centimeter-thick containment doors. Its anomalous properties are to be monitored on a biweekly basis,as it has been shown that its anomalous properties become active then inactive (no pattern has been found in these flickers).During transportation to testing areas it is to be wheeled on a 1 by 3-meter cart (class-D's transporting 4327 must be notified of the SCP's anomalous affects, following any signs of distress from the class-D's transporting the trash can, are to be removed and receive extensive therapy as per protocol). Due to incident 4327-B only level 3 personal, and personal acting under the command of level 3 personal are authorized to access the the trash can.

Description:

SCP-4327 is a stainless-steel egg shell white trash can with a diameter of .5 meters, and a height of 1 meter. The can has a black 32-gallon trash bag residing inside of it, all attempts to remove this bag have resulted in failure. The two handles on each side of it are used when transporting 4327. The outside shell of trash can is 1 centimeter thick. The can has the general appearance of a common trash can.

Its anomalous properties are unclear at first glance,but upon further inspection one will realize that anything throw in to the SCP will not return. When an item is thrown into SCP-4327 it will stay in the can if eye contact is maintained. As soon as eye contact is broken, the item thrown in will cease to exist. This includes an object that is partially in the can. When an item is partially in the can and eye contact with the item is broken the part of the item that was inside the can will ceases to exist. All attempts to find out where the items go after disappearing have resulted in failure.

On top of this, SCP-4327 has been observed to have a strong memetic effect. During test 4327-A, the class-D involved in testing reported a compulsion to jump in to SCP-4327, Many Class-D’s Involved in testing have experienced similar compulsions and thoughts. It has been shown that when one is not within the same confined as 4327 these thoughts will not manifest. (Note, these effects are only prevalent when a subject has had 1-2 minutes of exposure to the trash can). In all cases when when the right amount of time is spent (exact times may vary) with the trash can, he/she will frantically try jump in the can after experiencing extreme signs of distress. However, these affects will dissipate a short time after leaving the general vicinity of 4327 (when he/she have reached the point at which they are are activity trying to enter the can, they will not leave nor stop trying to enter unless forcefully removed). In many cases telling the subjects of the SCP's memetic hazard will slow the rate at which these thoughts manifest and take hold a person.

Addendum: 4327-1: Discovery

Because of the SCP’s placement on a rather unused hiking trail, the foundation has estimated that it was in in the park for 1 year and claimed the lives of at lease 3 people before it was discovered by the foundation.(there are no records found of when the trash can was made, or when it was transported to the location it was found).SCP-4327 was discovered when a Foundation personal was visiting family in ███ ███████ and stumbled upon 4327 on a hike (The skyline trail in the █████ forest). Dr. [DATA EXPUNGED] noticed the anomalous properties when he had throne a water bottle away at the beginning of his hike, and after returning to the trash can realized that the bottle he has thrown away had seemingly vanished. He quickly tested the can by throwing a stick inside it, after checking the can he found that once again what he had throne in had vanished. After this encounter Dr.[DATA EXPUNGED] contacted Foundation Personal to retrieve SCP-4327.

Addendum: Test 4327-A

Dr.Adams: Please step next to SCP-4327.

D-5412: alright.

Dr.Adams: Good, now I want you to pick up the water bottle to your right and put it in 4327.

D-5412: Um, ok. Wait but why?

Dr.Adams: Don’t ask questions, just do has you are told.

D-5412: ok?

[D-5412 picks up and drops the water bottle into SCP]

Dr.Adams: good, now take the stick next to SCP-4327 and put half of it inside the can while holding the other half. DO NOT, i repeat do not put your hand in the can.

D-5412: ok, but where did the-?

Dr.Adams: [Dr.Alex cuts off D-5412] Just do as you are told!

{END OF TEST}

(Note - while no visible memetic effects were noticed by researchers, after the test D-5412 reported that during the test he experienced "A strange compulsion to enter SCP-4327"

Addendum: Test 4327-B
(Note,incident 4327-B takes place after this test)

Dr.Adams: Please step next to SCP-4327
[D class 5612 steps closer to SCP-4327]

Dr.Adams: Now hold wait where you are, we will be back in a few minutes
(Note, this was a test of SCP-4327's memitic abilities)

(31 seconds in)

Dr.Adams: That's enough, get him out of there!
[Two facility guards come into the room, and restrain D-5612]

D-5612: AGGGG!
[D-5612 struggles and breaks free from the facility guards ,then rushes to SCP-4327. He jumps in 4327 (only his legs enter the SCP), but is stopped by the facility guards, not before both of D-5612's legs below the knee are gone.

Dr.Adams: Get him to a med bay, NOW!

{END OF TEST}

(Note, during this time two more facility guards are called in to guard SCP-4327)

Facility Guard 2 then ducts to avoid the shot (losing eye contact with Facility guard 1), Facility Guard 1 then disappears just as all other objects throne in SCP-4327 had.
