Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 6 metres by 6 metres by 3 metres steel cell. It is important that all of the walls including ceiling has a thickness of minimum 6 centimetres. The floor is to be covered in a layer of steel with the same thickness. It is necessary to have two sets of doors with a minimum of 0.5 metres of distance between them, as SCP-XXXX will become active upon any living creature entering. Personnel are to enter in groups consisting of two or more. Radios and other wireless transmitters are to be left outside the cell.

Description:

SCP-XXXX appears to resemble a set of medieval armour from the early 15th century, wearing a red surcoat with golden embroidery. The origin of the symbols including the armour itself has not been determined. The suit of armour is empty except for a rudimentary exoskeleton of rods, gears and clockwork. Despite this, SCP-XXXX possesses a wide range of movement, albeit in a stiff manner. Due to its nature, SCP-XXX has showed strength greater than the average human, but is prone to losing limbs which are easily reattached. It has not yet been determined what makes SCP-XXXX able to do so, and it’s source of power is currently unidentified. It is capable of speech, and its voice has been described as flat with what resembles a British accent.

A longsword of unknown origin was confiscated upon containment. The longsword, referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, does not appear to possess any anomalous features but has proven to be sturdier than what its metallic composition indicate. SCP-XXXX is under no circumstances permitted to come into contact with SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX will enter an inanimate state unless a living creature bigger than 25 cm by 25 cm by 25 cm is nearby. The distance ranges from 3 metres for the smallest creatures to 10 metres for a person with the height of 6 feet. SCP-XXXX will then animate and gain full sentience. The process is not hindered by walls, unless SCP-XXX is encapsulated within methal thicker than 5 centimetres. It takes approximately 3 seconds for SCP-XXXX to activate and 10 seconds to revert back to it’s non-sentient state. SCP-XXXX is not aware of the events that occur when in this state and has expressed concern over the matter multiple times.

SCP-XXXX is sentient and has shown mastery of English, albeit in an antiquated manner, as well as two unidentified languages. SCP-XXXX has in addition shown proficiency with the longsword and archery. It has been known to occasionally recite poems of unknown origin.

SCP-XXXX is generally cooperative and shows curiosity towards the outside world. It is however very suspicious of electronic devices and complains about a “pain in the head” when in the presence of certain wireless transmitters. SCP-XXXX will regularly bring up an incident referred to as “the Fracture”. Further questioning will result in SCP-XXXX becoming defensive. SCP-XXXX will occasionally make references to places, people and events, none of which have been identified or verified.

SCP-XXXX first appeared in downtown [REDACTED] where it according to reports proceeded to demolish several televisions, as well as two radios. Witnesses report that SCP-XXXX repeatedly yelled about “the Fracture”, before taking off into a sprint towards [REDACTED], where it was detained by a dispatched team. It appeared to have been detained willingly after one of the team members convinced SCP-XXXX they knew what it was referring to.
