“Your Average Quiet Forest Town”
Special Containment Procedures
SCP-XXXX is located near ██████, Britain inside an unmarked forest. Fences should be set up approximately 5-10 meters away from SCP-XXXX’s surrounding forest and equipped with barbed wire. Due to the forest’s size being too large for the Mobile Task Force assigned (Li-3 “Hugger Trees”) to patrol, command centre has been constructed to the east side allowing an operative to use CCTV to oversee the perimeter. In the unlikely event of a camera being disabled, by loss of signal or broken lens, the assigned task force is to secure the surrounding area and at least 50 meters into the forest for signs of trespassing and no further for safety reasons. Cameras are to be inspected and repaired every 3 months along with the fence checked for cut wire or compromises. Trespassers are to be shot on sight.
Description:
SCP-XXXX-A is a forest covering over 500+ acres of land covered in complete untouched overgrowth. The dominant flora within the forest seems to be Spruce wood trees with some hints of oak wood within the inner parts of the forest. SCP-XXXX-A, while having no electromagnetic field or electronic/mechanical disabling properties surrounding it, any and all devices without an external supply from outside SCP-XXXX-A’s perimeter will be disabled and unable to start back up until the device receives power, external from SCP-XXXX-A’s perimeter.
Some examples of electronics and mechanics effected by SCP-XXXX-A’s surrounding field are: vehicles, weaponry, gadgets (flashlights etc.) and even overhead satellites. Imagery from satellites or drones were deleted or corrupted along with the drone being lost despite searching. Until external powering was discovered to be effective against SCP-XXXX-A’s effects. (See Addendum 1/XXXX).
SCP-XXXX-A was discovered as deforestation companies and police reported missing hunters, disfigured animals and non-functioning machinery within the forest. Including flying overhead planes disappearing from radar and frequency channels. The foundation formed a specialised mobile task force to investigate its mechanical/electrical interference named Li-3 “Hugger Trees”. Li-3 was sent in after the East command centre and the perimeter was established. (See Expedition Log XXXX/1)
SCP-XXXX-B is a small town approximately 1.2kms into SCP-XXXX-A with designs consistent of the 1950’s period, complete with appropriately designed theatres, petrol stations and other small facilities. Although SCP-XXXX-B’s electrical field is still operational towards brought in electronics and other mechanics, neon lights within the town are powered and operational, despite the lack of maintenance performed on said signs (See Expedition Log XXXX/1)
SCP-XXXX-B, was discovered when a private Cessna reported an unmapped town within a forest, seconds before going off-radar and being lost to SCP-XXXX-A's effects. Li-3 was called after the report was submitted and was authorised entry into SCP-XXXX-A to locate SCP-XXXX-B. (See Expedition Log XXXX/1)
If exploration of SCP-XXXX-B is authorised, standard equipment must be issued to Li-3 personnel:
- 1x Shoulder Mounted Camera w/ 1500m of steel wiring cable linking to the eastern command centre. (Must be steel to prevent wildlife tampering with the wire.)
- 1x holstered durable combat knife.
- 1x large bolt-cutters
- 1x Wired microphone connected to the Shoulder Mounted Camera's 1500m of steel wiring
- 5x Ultra-Hi chem lights unaffected by SCP-XXXX-B's perimeter.
SCP-XXXX-B2 are humanoid entities relatively similar to humans. The only notable feature between SCP-XXXX-B2 and humans are the absence of their mouth. Once physical contact with an entity of SCP-XXXX-B2, The subject's mouth will retract leaving a "puckered stitched grin" as described by Corporal Lighter during the expedition into SCP-XXXX-B. The humanoids spotted, despite the buildings being around the 1950's period. clothes and accessories seem to be early to late 2000s. Some of the clothes of recorded trespassers were also found on some instances of SCP-XXXX-B2 Further exploration of SCP-XXXX-B is prohibited until further notice.
Addendum XXXX.1: Drone Footage
Drone Footage:
██████.mov CORRUPTED
Operator's Notes
[START LOG]
After starting up the drone, I flew it about 50 feet above the top of the spruce trees looking inwards of the forest. Instantly the drone saw a large power line tower connecting to a few others deep into the forest but there were no power lines exiting the forest. A neon light could also be spotted from within the forest from what looks to be an advertising billboard. (possible sapient entities). After trying to get a better view, the video cut and the drone fell into the forest with the cloud wiped. Li-3 was authorised to search for the drone to no avail. It was gone.

Task Force (Li-3) Expedition Team:
Lieutenant Keller (M.I.A)
Sergeant Peter (M.I.A)
Corporal Lighter (Returned)
Lance Corporal Miller (M.I.A)
Private Neil (M.I.A)
Private Charlie (M.I.A)[START LOG]
The shoulder mounted camera flickered to life just outside SCP-XXXX-B. Mobile Task Force Li-3 can be seen setting up their equipment and speaking of irrelevant topics. Once ready they enter SCP-XXXX-A's perimeter. While the camera footage is stable, flickers of corruption can be seen around the edges. Command is notified and camera's were dismantled at base, leaving only the microphone as the log's source.19 minutes of irrelevant chatter and they reach 1.2kms into the forest.
Lt Keller : Everyone freeze, Lights up ahead!
LCPL Miller : It's a town, sir. I can see the civilians!
SGT Peter : Somethings… wrong though, permission to move in sir?
Lt Keller : Be careful, these are possible anomalies.
PVT Charlie : How? They're not like some big reptile monster I was thinking of.
PVT Neil : Anything can be anomalous.
CPL Lighter : Don't worry about it, They seem docile. lets approach them.
LCPL Miller : Wait.. What the hell..?
SGT Peter : I told you, they're not normal..
PVT Neil : Where are their mouths?
PVT Charlie: Nowhere. It's just skin?
Lt Keller : Stay away from them. Don't instigate anything. Miller and Charlie, with me. SGT take the rest and check out that street.
SGT Peter : Copy, Lighter and Neil with me.
SGT Peter's Log
SGT Peter : These things are weird. You can't even hear them walk.
LCPL Miller : The buildings here are really old. Hell, I can't even remember seeing a movie theatre like that!
PVT Charlie : They're even playing that old Disney cartoon. You know, the one with those dwarfs?
SGT Peter : Good movie that, my daughter loves it.
LCPL Miller : Sergeant, Want to have a day off at the movies?
SGT Peter : Lets check it out first.
The Team chuckled lightly as the walked into the movie theatre, inside was quiet. Not even a machine was heard
PVT Charlie : I'll take a look in the cinemas.
SGT Peter : Got it, Lance Corporal and I will take a look around.
LCPL Miller : Copy that Sergeant.
The team split up, reuniting after exactly 3 minutes
PVT Charlie: This place is screwed, Everything's silent! Every single movie had dozens of people watching but no sound. Nothing, It was all silent.
SGT Peter : Yeah, this place is [EXPUNGED] up. I swear those employees have been staring at me from across the room.
LCPL Miller : You think that's weird? The concession stand was quiet! Not even the popping of popcorn! It was just all quiet.
SGT Peter : I think it's best to just stay away from the humanoids. Lets regroup with Keller's group.
PVT Charlie : Hey sir. I think they're coming out of the theatre now. I swear, those faces are going to give me nightmares
LCPL Miller : These damn things don't even watch movies with sound..
SGT Peter : Wait.. Why are they..?
PVT Charlie : [EXPUNGED]! Sir! We need to get out of here!
muffled groans could be heard before the microphone went silent. No ambiance, footsteps or even the slightest noise could be heard. Sergeant Peter, Private Charlie and Lance Corporal Miller are pronounced MIA
Lt. Keller's LogLt. Keller : Alright, let’s go grab samples. Lighter, pick our first stop.
CPL Lighter : What about that construction site?
Lt. Keller : Why that?
CPL Lighter : Listen for a moment?
Nothing is heard
Lt. Keller : I don't hear anything?
CPL Lighter : Exactly. Where are the loud bangs and construction noises?
PVT Neil : I don't like silence. Its bloody eerie.
Lt. Keller : When is silence a good thing? Lets go up.
A minute of short walking they finally reach the construction zone
CPL Lighter : The actual hell? Is everything here silent?
Lt. Keller : Not even a saw makes a noise. Look at this guy! He has a bloody sledge hammer and yet it doesn't even make the tiniest slam.
PVT Neil : Look on the bright side, we don't need earphones onsite.
A few minutes of other chatter was heard before a loud bang echoed throughout everybody's microphone
PVT Neil : Lieutenant! The humanoids! They’re moving!
Lt Keller : Lighter! What did you do!
CPL Lighter : I just dropped a hammer! I didn't think it'd make a noise!
PVT Neil : Lieutenant! Help me! They're on me! Help m-
At this point Neil's microphone cuts and becomes silent with nothing other than the echoes of the others in the distance
Lt. Keller : We need to get out of here! Now!
CPL Lighter : Sir, I am so sorry.. I didn't know!
Lt. Keller : Shut up lighter, It's fine. Just run! I'll try to get Neil back
CPL Lighter : But sir-
Lt. Keller : I said now, god damn it!
Multiple grunts could be heard as what could be interpreted as a fight occurred where Keller used his given knife to try and fight off the instances of SCP-XXXX-B2. Several minutes later the line goes mute and nothing is heard. Lieutenant Keller and Private Neil are Pronounced MIA.
CPL Lighter's Log
"Oh god…”
A loud thud was heard as a door was opened and closed. Lighter's short breathing indicates that he was hiding in a small claustrophobic area. Complete silence was recorded for over a full day before lighter finally spoke again
"Corporal Lighter's Log: 1"
"Those bloody monsters. Everyone’s alright but there gone. No one is alive. They're like [DATA EXPUNGED] machines. They act like everything okay with this? How can they? They have no mouths and they remove ours. I saw them. Some unlucky camper or hiker or something came into town.. I tried to get around to him silently but he already disrupted them. They held him down and… and the lieutenant… he wrapped his hand around his face. I don't know exactly what happened but when he removed his hand, the same puckered stitched grin that every single one of these things have. Any noise that's above normal speaking level… It triggers them. They want absolute silence. No matter what it is or who did it. They will silence you."2 full days pass with little to no noise on the microphone. A bag of chips could be heard opening
"Just screw this damn log thing."
"I messed up, my team is… they're worse than dead. They are those things. Every time i see one. I swear they're back to normal. They never are. They never will… The only reliable source of food I can get is the bags of chips from the petrol station. I can't exactly order food at the restaurants here with whatever bloody language these things use. They have old brands, old expiration dates but they aren't expired. But they're brand new. Its almost like time travel. Almost… no blue police boxes or paradoxes. Just this stupid town full of these monsters living lives like they're normal. I hate this 'perfectly average forest town' and I hope it goes to hell."A week goes by with similar logs and a recovery unit was requested and granted and prepared for Corporal Lighter's recovery
"Are you guys even listening anymore?"
"It's been a week. Every time i step out of this damn closet. Those things watch me. They want to silence me too. I can't say or do anything. I don't want to attract them. I can't stay here much longer. I want to leave, but they congregated around the exits. They don't want me to leave. Neil, Keller, Peter. They stare at me. It's my fault. Just let me leave god damn it… Just let me leave."Recovery date is set tomorrow.
"I'm dead"
"Keller, Charlie, Neil, Miller, Peter. We're all dead"The mic goes silent. The recovery team followed his wiring finding him in a closet huddled up next to the wall. The team notes that Lighter did not move or talk during the recovery and barely even moved for them, causing them to forcefully pick him up and remove him from the town. Lighter showed no cooperation during interviews and instituted into the medical department

Newspaper Article - Dated █/█/1942
"The [Name] Times"
"CITY CONFIRMED PLANS FOR NEW MALL!"
"Recently, the city council of [name coming soon] has agreed on the plans for building a new shopping centre right in the middle of the central square. "Our designs speculate that building will be finished before the year ends" states City Council member Luke Brown. "We hope that people of all ages get to enjoy the shopping mall, despite the war going on around us."
The newspaper clipping was collected by Corporal Lighter during his week stranded in the town.
After the expedition, Li-3 were prohibited from entering SCP-XXXX-1 until further notice and were ordered to focus on containment of SCP-XXXX.
4 months after Expedition Log 1/XXXX, a new SCP-XXXX-B2 instance was located outside of SCP-XXXX-1. Although this instance was not a humanoid but instead a dear, the reported symptoms matched other instances of SCP-XXXX-B2. These include silent footing, agitation towards noise and the stitched grin that occupies other instances of SCP-XXXX-B2. Li-3, upon seeing these new instances of SCP-XXXX-B2 around the border, are to terminate the instances as we have too many already locked up in containment cells for testing.
Addendum XXXX.3: Expedition Log 2
Task Force (Li-3) Expedition Team:
Lieutenant Lima (Returned)
Sergeant Charlie (Returned)
Sergeant Pecka (Returned)
Corporal Preston (Returned)
Private Kelsey (Returned)
Private Remy (Returned)Mobile Task Force Li-3 can be heard setting up their equipment and speaking of irrelevant topics. Once ready they enter SCP-XXXX-A's perimeter they head further in towards SCP-XXXX-B.
CPL Preston : Have you read the previous expedition log? You know, the one with Lighter and Miller in it?
PVT Remy : No.. What happens?
Lt. Lima : Stop scaring the kid Preston, we just need to recover some materials then get out.
PVT Kelsey : What actually happened though..?
SGT Pecka : The researchers think that XXXX-B2 are agitated towards noise, a single dropped hammer and poof, the entire squad dies. Except Lighter, who lives to tell the tale!
The Sergeant explained the story as if it was a ghost story, which was followed by a jokingly "Boo" by Sergeant Charlie.
CPL Preston : The researchers were exaggerating, right?
Lt. Lima : We'll find out soon enough.
After 14 minutes of walking, they reach an unknown point of distance before spotting a tiny wooden hut.
PVT Kelsey : "Wait, Lieutenant, look over there!SGT Charlie : Hey sir, is that supposed to be here?
CPL Preston : Its just a small hut, maybe we'll find those stitched grins, lighter was talking about.
The microphones were filled with quiet laughter for a few seconds before a squeaky door was opened and the task force entered the hut.
Lt. Lima : Sergeant Charlie, Preston, stay with me. We'll investigate here. You guys go over to the town.
PVT Kelsey : But what about the humanoids, They'll-
Lt. Lima : Kelsey, that's an order. This is your job, you can't be afraid of every ghost story the researchers publish.
PVT Kelsey : Yes sir.
The group consisting of Sergeant Pecka, Private Kelsey and Private Remy, leave the wooden hut adventuring further into the forest heading towards the town.
SGT Preston : So what are we supposed to do here sir?
Lt. Lima : Material collection.
Lt. Lima's Log
Lt. Lima's group were heard rummaging through the wooden huts contents, including cupboards, furniture and shelves.
CPL Preston : Sir! I think I found something.
Lt. Lima : What is it?
CPL Preston : "Magical Rituals: And how to do them." Sounds like a bad movie.
LT Lima : Bag it up, It might be evidence to what happened to this place.
Another squeaky door could be heard over Sergeant Charlie's microphone as he opened a door to another room.
SGT Charlie : Oh [DATA EXPUNGED]
CPL Preston : What's wron- Oh.
Lt. Lima : It's just a skeleton, looks like he shot himself. 5 rounds missing. Can you find its name?
SGT Charlie : Do I have to touch it?
Lt. Lima : Would you rather touch it or go see the humanoids with Sergeant Pecka?
An audible sigh was heard over the microphone as Lima rummaged through the pockets of the dead body.
SGT Charlie : Found it. Doctor Leggit. Date of birth, ██ of the █, 1916.
CPL Preston : That's a long time ago. What was he a doctor in anyways?
SGT Charlie : Says he's an "Acoustic Scientist." Is that even a thing?
Lt. Lima : Did he know about a town? Looked like he was studying the silence of the town..
CPL Preston : Could it be he was researching the humanoids as well?
Lt Lima : It's possible, although I'm not sure. Let's bag these books and head out.
SGT Pecka's Log
Sergeant Pecka's Squad walked towards XXXX-B's location almost silently. Although a few sticks could be heard being broken once being stepped on, confirming the squad's status.
SGT Pecka : [Whispering] There's the town. Be quiet.
There was no response as they walked silently into the town.
5 minutes pass until a quiet thud is heard
PVT Remy : Ow!
SGT Pecka : [Whispering] Remy! Shut up!
a minute pass of silence, before Remy speaks up again
PVT Remy : Wait.. They're not agitated?
PVT Kelsey : Were the researchers exaggerating?
SGT Pecka : Probably… But at least now we know we can talk normally.
The group walks throughout the town, confirming sightings made in Expedition Log 1/XXXX
SGT Pecka : These things are really freaking me out.
PVT Kelsey : Maybe we should go into the community centre. It seems like the humanoids aren't swarming that place. It might have something in it.
PVT Remy : What's wrong with this lovely neighbourhood.
PVT Kelsey : Lovely is certainly a word I wouldn't describe this place.
SGT Pecka : Yeah, me neither. Let’s head inside.
The sound of a door opening and closing could be easily heard over the microphone as the entered the centre.
SGT Pecka : What the hell happened here?
PVT Kelsey : It’s a mess. Looks like a blockade? Were people living here?
PVT Remy : Poor bastards. Didn't stand a chance.
SGT Pecka : We got a body… two, three… four bodies. All decomposed to skeletons. Kelsey, Remy. Help me search them.
The bodies were audibly searched over the microphone.
PVT Kelsey : Got a wallet. This one’s a city councillor, Named Luke,
PVT Remy : This one is Fredrick and this one is Alice, Both city councillors.
SGT Pecka : This one doesn't have a wallet but he has this old video camera. its a bit too big to put in a bag though. We'll have to carry it back. Take the wallets, any piece of information you can find. We'll search the rest of the community centre.
More doors were heard being opened as the task force searched the adjacent rooms. Although no materials were found. All teams returned without incident

Dr. Leggit's Letter - Found inside Fredrick Taylor's Wallet
"Dear Mr. Taylor"I've done it! I have an invention that can silence an entire town! Possibly the forest surrounding us as well! I've researched and tested it and it works! Please allow me the afternoon of May █th to show it to you."
Camera - Found in the Community Centre
The camera has only 1 cassette with 4 minutes worth of recorded tape.
[START LOG]
The camera flickers to life and is set on the table as Dr. Leggit started to perform the ritual. There is no sound available and the video quality too low to interpret their conversations. After exactly 32 seconds into the film, spectating civilians and other community personnel started to fall down in a seizure like manner as they all covered there mouths although the council members and the doctor himself seem to be unaffected. Exactly 1:02 minutes in, the first entity of SCP-XXXX-B2 is revealed, standing up. and walking out of the community centre while the councillors and the doctor watch from the corner. At exactly 3:14 seconds in they are seen to be having a heated argument which then attracts instances of SCP-XXXX-B2. There is no other events before the tape cuts.

Addendum XXXX.4: Experiment Log - "Magical Rituals: And how to do them"
A non-threatening "anti-gravity" spell was picked out of the ritual book and set up accordingly. The materials required were:
- 1x 500mg of table salt
- 1x 200ml cup of water
- 4x small sticks
[START LOG]
An empty 5x5x5m testing cell was used for the room of the experiment. Class-D D-1528 was ordered to step into the cell, and use the book to set up the ritual. After minimal resistance, D-1528 accepted the task, putting the sticks approximately 2 meters away from each other forming a square. D-1528 proceeded to pour salt into the middle of the square and slowly pour water onto the salt, white muttering a phrase unheard by the containment cell's microphones. After all the water in the cup emptied onto the salt, D-1528 started moving up, towards the ceiling, flailing around trying to position himself back to normal as he floated upwards. Not long after, the sticks started to move away from the original position, moving up towards D-1528 until they were pressing against the ceiling. D-1528 now unaffected by the artificial anti-gravity field fell towards the ground suffering minor injuries.
