Item #: SCP-XXXX (Parasitic Army)
Object Class: Elucid
Special Containment Procedures: not sure open to ideas
Description: SCP-XXXX was originally believed to be a humanoid entity, entirely made of sand and a hardened gravel-like substance. Deep x-ray scans revealed a bone structure and traces of skin, arteries and organs. Though upon testing, the sandy substance reacted violently to the personnel in charge of dissection. It seems capable of hardening its outer layer in whichever part is in immediate threat, making the armour impenetrable. The initial entity is not known to be physically violent but loud sounds seem to startle it, causing small areas of its armour to fall away. Any attempts to retrieve these piles of sand has been met with resistance from SCP-XXXX, and all operations have been therefore abandoned.
During a matter of months SCP-XXXX has grown increasingly violent, and all D-Class exposed to it have been somewhat injured by it in some way. Overnight these individuals show symptoms of insomnia and malnutrition. In a matter of days, a coating of sand seems to spreads from the point of injury across the body, ending with the subject being converted into an entity similar to SCP-XXXX. This has led to the creations of SCP-XXXX-B and SCP-XXXX-C, which seem to act as a hive-mind with SCP-XXXX. All three entities seem to stand perfectly still when observed, occasionally sneezing, or partaking in an echo of their past, human lives. SCP-XXXX is likely not the first entity to be converted and Foundation personnel are advised to keep a constant watch on the containment cell.
