Item#: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a suburban or urban Class A gated neighborhood. SCP-XXXX is to have a placeholder house that is to be cleaned every 24 hours by Level 0 janitorial staff, as well as a few select janitors to clean SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a green, coir mat with a gold text outline saying “WELCOME” in the middle of the top surface. SCP-XXXX’s height is approximately 3 cm, with a length of 7cm, and a width of 5 cm.

SCP-XXXX’s anomalous property is to emit a telepathic connection to any house that is in a suburban or urban area, especially neighborhoods and communities. Once SCP-XXXX has been placed in a house that fits the suitable requirements, it will telepathically emit a signal to the house, which becomes an instance of SCP-XXXX, now known as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX also requires an individual to function its telepathic property, transmitting a telepathic connection to the individual, now being referred as SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX searches through the mind of the individual, a household memory that is cherished by the individual. SCP-XXXX will replicate the memory, and transmit the memory to the house, changing the house’s original appearance to the individual’s household from the memory, playing the memory and often featuring family members, relatives, roommates, friends, companions, and more. Individuals who are not related to one another, and interact with SCP-XXXX will cause SCP-XXXX to halt its effects.

SCP-XXXX’s original creator is unknown, but its public presence was first documented in 7/26/2010 in a garage sale located in a small town in Florida. SCP-XXXX was sold to a civilian 70-year-old elderly man who has kept the item for a range of 2 years for personal use (Read Interview Log 6/12/2012). Foundation staff has recently discovered the item upon experimental telepathic technology, pinpointing the signal of SCP-XXXX.
