Item #: SCP- XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP- XXXX is to be contained within a 2 meter long by 1 meter wide storage room where only personal with level 2 clearance and above may open the door and interact with SCP- XXXX. 1 security guard is to be placed outside the door of SCP- XXXX's containment room at all times, and every four hours must be checked on in-case of a containment breach by the object's anomalous properties.

Description: SCP- XXXX appears to be a form of a vintage ham radio1 with a grey casing with what appears to be steel but upon inspection appears to be made up of an unknown organic-material that has shown to have the properties of steel for the most part. There are 8 knobs on the front-side of SCP- XXXX but are unable to be turned in any direction and appear to be just for show. There is also writing near two of the knobs though the writing looks as though it has suffered too severe weathering due to either the elements or time to be deciphered.

For the most part, SCP- XXXX remains inert for random periods of time when not around living things and does not react to other objects within it's room. When exposed to anything living for more than one minute that is at-least 5 meters around it and within 'sight', the object's anomalous properties will start to manifest in the form of music. This music can be heard within 10 meters of the object though it's volume never increases or decreases with distance, even through walls or doors. Though the music when heard from cameras or audio recordings is directed from SCP- XXXX, when heard in-person it appears to be coming from everywhere and is described as simply as 'source-less.'

The music played by SCP- XXXX is different for anyone that comes into contact with it, ranging from classical, metal, rock n' roll, jazz, etc. Though the music itself never appears to have lyrics or chanting. The music heard appears to be what is always played for that person and living things that leave the area will cause it to stop playing after one minute. A living thing that was already exposed to SCP- XXXX and reenters it's radius has the music start up once again more quickly, usually 2 - 5 seconds. This suggests SCP- XXXX is aware of it's surroundings in a fashion and can 'remember' people.

Those that listen to the music for an undetermined amount of time usually describe the music played as 'fitting' for them and that it 'makes sense.' These statements being repeated has been cause to see if any subjects or personal exposed to SCP- XXXX are under a mental effect though further testing shows that this is not the case. Though this does not rule out that SCP- XXXX may be using some-form of mental effect to make it's music becoming 'fitting' for subjects that come into contact with it.

When in the presence of multiple living things, SCP- XXXX will simply play the music of the first person to enter it's range, including instances when music has not started playing yet. It will still play the music of the person to first enter within 5 meters of it.

One other anomalous property of SCP- XXXX is it's ability to disappear and reappear in different locations, unlike other SCPs, SCP- XXXX has an identifiable pattern of reappearing either in the presence of a person it has played before too or in a containment breach where other SCPs are escaping. In the case of a person it has played before too it will always appear 1 meter away from them and begin playing it's music. In the case of a containment breach, SCP- XXXX will appear wherever another SCP is near and will begin playing music.

The music played by SCP- XXXX during an containment breach is always different but it's range is increased and usually plays with shriller-instruments and chords as if to mimic a chase scene or something of that nature. SCp- XXXX is easily re-contained and stops playing it's music when all other SCPs are re-contained.

An interesting thing to note is that SCP- XXXX will play it's music when in the presence of other SCPs, whether or not that SCP is considered living. Those that hear the music also describe it as 'fitting.'

Discovery: SCP- XXXX was discovered within a house in Montreal in the Isle of Île-Bizard. Citizens were complaining about the rapidly changing music within the area. A containment squad was sent after multiple reports were picked up by the Foundation and MTF Epsilon-6 (Village Idiots) was sent to investigate the situation. The house it was found it had several instances of mold and other sources of structural destruction. The SCP was contained without incident and the situation was able to be defused with out the use of Amnestics.
