SCP-XXXX
Object Class- Safe
Special Containment Procedures - Due to its close proximity to Site-XXX, the entrance (designated SCP-XXXX-E) of SCP-XXXX is within the existing security perimeter for the aforementioned site. The building housing the outlet (designated SCP-XXXX-O) is to be marked condemned, with a rotation of plain-clothed security personnel observing the building, as well as a security officer disguised as a vagrant living in the building. The disguised officer shall enter and leave the building multiple times a day, feigning schizophrenia or the actions of a heavy drug user, to discourage the general populace of the surrounding town from investigating the building.
Description- SCP is an anomalous tunnel, whose entrance is within a concealed valley adjacent to Site-XXX. The outlet of the tunnel resides in the basement of a residential building in the town of XXXXXX, Oregon, approximately 120 km (75 mi) from Site-XXXX. When entered from SCP-XXXX-E, any Organic or Sentient beings experience a spatial and time compression. No matter the means or speed of travel, the individual will exit the tunnel in exactly 15 minutes. Any non-organic, non sentient means of travelling or observing the tunnel does not experience the reality bending properties, although any accompanying Organic or Sentient beings will still experience the effect, See experiment log SCP-XXXX-1.1. It is unknown how the tunnel causes such reality bending, and whether the effect is natural. When entering the tunnel from SCP-XXXX-O, any Organic or Sentient Beings cannot reach the opposite end, given any amount of time or conveyance. Once again, all non-organic, non sentient means of travelling or observing the tunnel do not experience this effect, see experiment log SCP-XXXX-1.2. The interior of the tunnel appears to be dug with a combination of natural and artificial means, implying the tunnel occurred naturally and was expanded by hand. Such a tunnel does not appear on any geological survey of the area, and additional geological testing of the surrounding area is ongoing. The building containing SCP-XXXX-O also contains a "Way" in the form of a trap door seemingly bolted closed. No connection between the anomaly and the Wander's Library has been found.
Discovery- SCP-XXXX was discovered by apparent accident by a Site-XXX security patrol when one officer fell into the tunnel when searching for a place to urinate off the security path. When the officer in question exited the tunnel, he radioed to the security office for assistance. The On-Site Mobile Task Force was dispatched to his location. Upon arrival, the MTF found what seemed to be an abandoned Serpent's Hand Safe house, including a collection of beds and a scavenged Foundation terminal. Internal investigation into possible Serpent's Hand activity at Site-XXX is ongoing. See Document SCP-XXXX-SH-1A for recovered data from the terminal.
Experiment Log SCP-XXXX-1.1-
1. Subject- D-XXXX equipped with a standard video and radio transmitter, a digital wristwatch, a digital chronometer unobservable by the Subject, and a standard flashlight . Subject is instructed to walk the length of the Anomaly and make audible notes of anything they consider out of the ordinary. Subject not briefed of the anomalous effects of the location.
Notes: Subject entered SCP-XXXX via SCP-XXXX-O and exited the anomaly 15 minutes later. Video observed during the experiment showed time on the video recording to accelerate relative to the walking speed of the Subject. Subject noted the same effect on the wristwatch. Upon review of video and audio recording, played in "real time" the subject seems to be walking and speaking in "slow motion" consistent with the time variation between the digital chronometer provided with the subject and the chronometer in the lab. The total recording time was 1406 minutes. A ratio of variation of time was later calculated to be approximately 1:18.7.
