Description: SCP-xxxx is a pizzeria located in Southern California. SCP-xxxx is staffed and operated by 25 non-anomalous humans, most of which are formally aware of the anomalous properties of SCP-xxxx. The employees are not under any form of influence when within SCP-xxx, and are free to make their own decisions. Employees will preform their tasks based on personal dedication, and are still capable of quitting their positions or having them terminated. During hours of operation, the employees within SCP-xxxx will operate according to their designated positions by preparing food, taking orders, and preforming deliveries. The food produced inside of SCP-xxxx is non-anomalous and of average quality. Repeat customers of SCP-xxxx reportedly base their patronage on the reasonable pricing rather than the quality of the food.
The anomalous effects of SCP-xxxx began upon the hiring of a sixteen year-old cashier named Ryan Teeter. Teeter proclaimed in an interview that he took the position to make money on the side while he finished his sophomore year at a local high school. At non-correlated and seemingly random intervals, a thick red mist will begin to emanate from the double-decker conveyor pizza oven. The mist will occasionally glitter, and smells strongly of ash. Any human that breathes the mist produced by SCP-xxxx will experience intense and realistic hallucinations. The hallucinations are usually based on the past experiences of the victim, with the details becoming twisted or rearranged to induce strong negative emotions. These include traumatic events, events depicting jealously or hate, desires or long-lost loves, etc.
In a majority of cases induced by SCP-xxxx there exists a commonality. In these cases, the victim reports their hallucination featuring a tall, humanoid figure wearing a satin robe. The face of the figure is covered by a golden mask with green, glowing eyes. It is described as distinctly Egyptian or Aztec in nature, depicting a ceremonial headdress or mask. In the majority of cases, the figure will stand in the background silently observing. However, on very rare occasions, the figure will enter the foreground of the hallucination and occasionally becoming the focal point. The figure will speak in a deep, comforting voice, usually offering words of encouragement. However, if at any point an underage employee experiences a hallucination, the voice of the figure will change. The voice is described as a bad impression of an Indian accent, and the figure's speech will often be interrupted by uncontrollable wheezing laughter. The figure will tell the victim that they are required to come into the restaurant early that day in order to prepare the pizza. The figure will always address the employee by name, but will put unnecessary emphasis on certain letters. The hallucinations will end once the red mist stops emitting from the oven, at which point the victims will resume consciousness and have a complete memory of the experience.
The effects of SCP-xxxx can be preemptively halted with the presence of the employee Ryan Teeter. If the anomalous effects of SCP-xxxx are taking place while Teeter enters the premises, the red mist will immediately evaporate, and all victims will resume consciousness. The management of SCP-xxxx are fully aware of this, and Teeter reports that he is contacted at odd hours by one of his managers, begging him to report to work because the red mist had began emanating from the oven once again. Teeter is unabashed and uncaring of his effects on the mist, but says he is annoyed when he is contacted by his management on days in which he is not scheduled to work or in the very early hours of the morning.
