Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4786 is currently contained in a Class-IV Humanoid Containment Cell at Site-88. SCP-4786 is not, under any circumstance, allowed to access any wireless electronic device that has been used to access the Foundation intranet. As a precaution, no complex electrical components are allowed within the containment cell at all times.
SCP-4786 is incapable of independent locomotion other than minute moments of the digits and is currently confined to a standard-issue Foundation medical bay wheelchair, which is to be checked twice daily for any attempts to smuggle hidden wireless electronic devices. Any such devices, if found, are to be considered grounds for punishment and SCP-4786 will be kept isolated for a period of one week.
SCP-4786 is currently allowed strictly one hour of contact with an Internet-capable device via Cat-6a Ethernet cable, to be approved after a review of any research proposal made to Dr. Leia Schreiber or any available member of research personnel currently assigned to studying SCP-4786.
Description: SCP-4786, formerly known as Kharitonov ███████████, is a 58-year-old man of Russian ethnic descent. He is believed to have been the subject of extensive experimentation and research by the Group of Interest ГРУ, Отдел 'П', otherwise known to the Foundation as the GRU Division 'P', on the integration of biological and mechanical circuitry. SCP-4786 has a highly miniaturised external hard disk drive implanted within the cranial region in an unstable manner and is capable of interfacing with the brain in a poorly-understood manner. As a result, SCP-4786 remains in a comatose-like state unless physically disturbed by authorised research personnel.
SCP-4786-1 refers to an Type-Gray eldritch entity that is kept in permanent contact with SCP-4786 via a semi-electrical thaumatological feedback loop that has been consistently kept running in the aforementioned external hard disk drive since 26/07/1981.
When an Internet-capable device is placed in contact with SCP-4786, strings of an currently-unreproducible organometallic material are secreted from the phalangeal region through the skin and create a temporary interfacing matrix with the hardware of the provided device. The device is now considered an SCP-4786-2 instance. Communication with SCP-4786-1 is capable via SCP-4786-2 through the use of text-supporting programs.
SCP-4786-3 refers to the now-defunct "сверхъестественный VPN", loosely translated to "Eldritch VPN". When installed on a computer, SCP-4786-3 functions by creating an encrypted private traffic tunnel, through which Internet traffic is routed through SCP-4786 by SCP-4786-1. As a precaution, Foundation webcrawlers are to ensure that links directing Internet users to "Eldritch VPN" are removed from public access.

From my previous interviews, I've gathered that SCP-4786-1 was raised in a thaumatological ritual as conducted by GRU Division 'P' thaumatologists in 1981, using an experimental working that relied on interfacing blood with an electrical circuit to create a Constructed Intelligence that would be hosted in a living person and share a consciousness by linking both entities. The process, due to unknown reasons, failed to work completely and resulted in a comatose subject and a semi-active thaumatological entity residing in the hard disk drive implanted in the subject's head.
SCP-4786-1 wants out from SCP-4786. It literally created the Virtual Private Network because it was bored and wanted to find out more about people around the world by spying on what they're doing on their computers. I've filed a request with the higher-ups regarding possibly transporting it into an isolated microcomputer, like SCP-079, to allow us further research into its capabilities. Perhaps it might even be the next big thing in Foundation technology if we find out how to integrate harmless thaumatological workings into computers.
It's been denied. I thought it was a good idea back then, but I've changed my mind now. Apparently, one of the junior researchers, for reasons still unknown, brought a thumbdrive into the containment cell and left it with SCP-4786. He's been terminated now, but the damage was done. SCP-4786-1 managed to somehow create a working wireless device and accessed local Foundation intranet for almost half an hour before Technical Researcher Rosen's team managed to lock him out of the system. We've confiscated the device and will be leaving it to cool off for a week. See if it decides to do anything similarly stupid in the meantime.

██/04/2016 - A post is created on the imageboard website 4chan under "Technology" with an attached image of a [REDACTED]-brand personal computer with blurred black threads protruding from the computer's USB ports. The creator of the post asks if anyone knows about what is happening to their computer, making a joke about fungal growths. Within twenty-seven hours, the post receives seven replies from various users about discovering the same "growths" after checking their computer ports. Further discussion identifies that all users being affected by the same problem have recently installed and began using a virtual private network known as "Eldritch VPN".
██/05/2016 - The 4chan thread comes to Foundation attention after increasing attention is drawn to "Eldritch VPN" discussion threads, where several computer experts raised flags about the workings of the VPN. Foundation researcher Dr. Leia Schreiber proposes the use of a burner computer to install the VPN and attempt to trace its origins. Simultaneously, MTF Kappa-10 ("Skynet") is deployed to seize all computers affected by "Eldritch VPN" for further research.
██/05/2016 - Initial analyses of "Eldritch VPN" reveal anomalous code that does not function if not linked to a particular server hosted in Russia. Attempts to track the server host's location are undergoing. Meanwhile, all personal computers belonging to 4chan users who have reported having installed "Eldritch VPN" have been confiscated. Organometallic complexes are discovered integrated into the hardware of the computers and spectrometry has yielded inconclusive results. Further testing reveals that similar anomalous code has been installed in all computers and that the "black tendrils" as described are actually organic-digital neural matter deposited into the USB ports of affected computers.
██/06/2016 - The IP address of the VPN hosting server is located and an emergency-response team is assembled for a raid. One semi-comatose man is discovered at the location with a hand placed over an IBM RISC System/6000 Model D2D. The man is detained by Foundation agents and quarantined in a Class-IV Humanoid Containment Cell.
██/06/2016 - Examination of the man reveals a small disc driver on the back of the man's head but with no visible means of activation. Extended questioning, hampered by the man's inability to communicate for extended periods of time, reveals a possible connection to GOI GRU Division 'P'. This connection is established to be long over and after further evaluation, a decision is made that the link is not worth investigation and will not be followed up. The disc drive on the back of the man's head opens after Dr. Leia Schreiber, placed in charge of researching the anomalous VPN, shows code printed out from "Eldritch VPN" to the man. A Type-Gray eldritch entity is then revealed after triggering multiple EVE detectors and Kant counters.
██/07/2016 - Containment procedures are updated and the man is given an SCP designation (SCP-4786), after the Type-Gray entity (designated SCP-4786-1) is determined to not harbor ill-will towards Foundation. SCP-4786 is transferred to Site-88 and an agreement is reached between SCP-4786-1 and the Ethics Committee Liaison of Site-88.

Special Containment Procedures: Personnel from Site-19 are advised not to panic if approached by an instance of SCP-4956. SCP-4956 is indefinitely contained at a non-existent Foundation facility that is postulated to overlap with the Euclid containment wing of Site-19.
As of 01/██/████, SCP-4956 is declared neutralised and object class updated to reflect this. The termination of Dr. Arthur Hackett (Facility Director of Site-19 Facility-23, a specialised research facility housing SCP-914) in an unrelated incident is suspected to be directly correlated to the 97% decrease in phenomena related to, or directly involving SCP-4956.

As of 02/██/████, the object class of SCP-4956 has been updated to Keter, reflecting current Foundation interaction with manifestations of SCP-4956 instances. Information leakage from Foundation personnel of Clearance Level 4 is to be reported to RAISA immediately. All personnel are advised to undergo voluntary amnesticzation after contact with SCP-4956.
Description: SCP-4956 does not exist. SCP-4956 is an anomalous thought-construct that is continuously being overwritten into existence by the collective conscious of Site-19 personnel.
By Occam's Razor, repeated empirical testing (with the verification of multiple Foundation sites and the aid of the Memetics Department) has concluded that SCP-4956 is the direct result of broad-based and low-level reality warping by one or more members of Foundation staff with a clearance level of 4 or above. Phenomena related to SCP-4956 is further impressed into local reality by the interaction of Site-19 staff with instances of SCP-4956.
