Item #: SCP-4389
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4389 is to be kept in a dark, temperature controlled room that must stay between 60° and 70° Fahrenheit. The eye of SCP-4389 must be monitored around the clock. If at any time it becomes irritated, Class-D personnel must administer 1 to 2 drops of eye drops containing castor oil. If for any reason SCP-4389 is exposed to bright light, the pupil will greatly dilate and a shriek of such will emit from the back of the object until the light level is lowered to roughly around .1 lumen.
Any instance of SCP-4389-1 are to be kept within the same room as SCP-4389 and monitored for a total of 6 hours. If SCP-4389-1 persists after 6 hours, incinerate object.
Any Class-D personnel that have any instances of SCP-4389-2 on their body are to be monitored for one day. If one day passes and SCP-4389-2 remains active on any subjects, neutralize in a compound consisting of fluoroantimonic acid and traces of SCP-████.
Description: SCP-4389 is a small, white remote made of plastics and rubber with a singular, brown eye on the bottom of the device. It has a total of 5 buttons, the top 3 having 3, 2, and 1 dot respectively with a button with a power symbol below. Above the eye there is a single button separate from the other 4 with no symbol. On the top of the object there is a red LED that emits a small, pulsing light on the push of any button.
The eye reacts to external stimuli and will follow those in it's general vicinity as well as dilate with light levels and occasionally blink. Anytime the object is exposed to a light level above .1 lumen, it seems to emit a sound similar to a shriek until the light levels have lowered.
SCP-4389-1: SCP-4389-1 is the product of pushing the unmarked button in the direction of any dead or inorganic object. Over the course of 12 minutes, the object will grow an eye nearly identical to that of SCP-4389. The eye reacts to light and stimuli the exact same way. Typically the eye will seemingly dissolve into the object after 6 hours, however if the eye persists after 6 hours, it will appear to get an infection reminiscent of conjunctivitis and while it is highly contagious, it is not lethal to humans.
SCP-4389-2: SCP-4389-2 is the product of pushing the unmarked button in the direction of any organic, living creature. Over the course of 12 minutes, the creature will grow an eye identical to their own randomly on their body. This eye reacts as the creatures eyes do and does not require lowered light levels. Subjects have reported being able to see out of this eye with no issue. The eye will usually dissolve into the creature's skin within a day with no pain. However, if it persists after a day the subject will rapidly begin to grow more eyes. Eventually growing on all surfaces of the subject; inside and out. After this, it will begin spreading instances of SCP-4389-2 to any living creature within a 1.5 meter radius if exposed to the carcass.
