The foundation has existed for about 120 years. It started in 1847, while in a rudimentary state. It only cataloged SCP's, not contained them. In 1893 the foundation needed data storage, and to fulfill that need Site-1 was built. In 1950, they successfully managed to contain SCP-173, and the rest is history. Site-19 will store SCP-173, along with hundreds of other hard-to contain SCP's.
