[[Carnivorous Pine]]
Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures:SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a air tight solid steel cell with one main viewing widow spanning half of the length of one side. The glass of the window is to be 10 centimeters thick. The dimensions of the cell are to depend on the size of the instance of SCP-XXXX. The cell containing SCP-XXXX instances must be devoid of all Carbon Dioxide. All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be terminated during or after containment as ordered by Doctor Wallace. Under no circumstances should organic matter come into contact with SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX refers to an instance of a sub species of a Pinus of the classification Pinopsida, apart of the order Pinales, more commonly known as a Pine Tree. SCP-XXXX appears as a normal pinopsida but shows anomalous abilities in it's movement, structure, and unnatural behavior. SCP-XXXX's bark is normal, but the cambium cell consist of a flesh like substance along with a liquid chemically similar to blood, though it is a thick brown substance and not red like that of the animilia kingdom. SCP-XXXX appears to move by slithering it's roots through the earth. Along with this movement the sounds of splitting and cracking wood are audible. SCP-XXXX actively hunts down other organic organisms, the most observed are those belonging to the animila kingdom. Once SCP-XXXX is in range of it's prey, designated SCP-XXXX-1 it will extend it's branches presumably by the same manor it is able to move it's roots, and wrap them around the SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX then proceeds to puncture SCP-XXXX-1 (INFORMATION REDACTED) and (INFORMATION REDACTED). Afterwards SCP-XXXX will consume SCP-XXXX-1 by opening a hidden orface located at the base of the trunk. The procreation process of SCP-XXXX is not fully known, but what is known is seeds are expelled via cones containing the liquid substance and seeds breaking away. One known way to accelerate this process is to remove a limb from SCP-XXXX, once this is achieved mentioned liquid substance containing seeds will be expelled from the organism.
Incident Report A: On June 16, 1975 Foundation officials were notified about a growing legend based in (INFORMATION REDACTED),USA. The legend was causing a disturbance and had substansial evidence to be true. Foundation Agents digused as Park Rangers were dibaptched to the location of interest. The first foundation siting of SCP-XXXX was on June 21, 1975. Agents came across what they described as a moving tree. Mobile Task Force Theta 4 (Gardeners) were instantly disbaptched to contian the anomly.

June 16, 1975,
Theta 4 Kilo 7 was disbapcthed to handle a potential threat at a classified location. Me and my men touched down about 32 meters away from the target. We were told little information about the target, the only thing foundation heads had to go off of was the newly made legend from that region. We were told not to get withing 10 meters of the target and attempt to capture it in net. We were given a Talon Net Launcher that launcher nets that stretched out 30 meters. When we got visual of the target it appeared to just be a pine tree, but it was moving. We could see the roots writhing and swirling up dirt as it propelled itself across the forest floor. It looked to be at least 15 meters tall. We approached it surrounding the thing and moving with it. I ordered one of my men designated Kilo7-5 to close in on it closer and arch the Talon Net gun so that the net would go over the target and hopefully we could grab the net and bring it down. Kilo7-5 got ever so close to it and, in a blink whipped one of it's branches down and smacked him. He fell to the ground and the target began using it's roots to pull him under the ground as it moved forward. I ordered the rest of my men to aim high and fire upon the tree using .22mm round M16 rifles. Upon firing bullets penetrated the bark and pieces of wood splintered out along with a brown liquid. After seconds of firing small white flakes, like that of dandelion seeds, began flying out of the target. Kilo7-8 and Kilo7-4 seemed to have an allergic reaction to the pollen, coughing and sneezing. Soon enough after maybe 10 seconds of fire the target let go of Kilo7-5. Kilo7-9 rushed to him and dragged him to safety. I then ordered my men to use incendiary grenades on the target and it was burned and down withing a minute. Kilo7-5 had a broken tibia and ankle on his right leg, and a broken wrist on his left hand. Other than that we had no casualties.
