Item #: SCP-3578
Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3578 is to be levitated in the air in a locked airtight container. No one is allowed to come in contact with SCP-3578, nor experiment on SCP-3578 unless directed to.
Description: SCP-3578 is a small, rough object, 5 cm tall, 5 cm wide, in the shape of a square-based pyramid. Each face with the exception of the bottom has a crudely drawn mechanical gear. The bottom face has a crudely drawn human heart. SCP-3578 is made of an unknown material about as hard as graphene.
When SCP-3578 comes in contact with a living thing, SCP-3578 will encase the subject with a seemingly indestructible invisible barrier. The subject will be unconscious for 3 days, then on the 4th day the subject will wake up and the invisible barrier will disappear.
At this point the subject becomes SCP-3578-2. Instances of SCP-3578-2 seem to have their organs mechanized. They are seemingly enhanced and don't need sustenance. SCP-3578-2 can learn anything in a few minutes, SCP-3578-2 is also so strong it can lift an elephant with one hand. SCP-3578-2 is also so fast it can outrun a cheetah. SCP-3578-2's brain has also been enhanced to the point that it can handle "Graham's Number". Subjects that previously had bad eyesight can now see without glasses after turning into SCP-3578-2. Subjects that had cancer, after turning into SCP-3578-2 are now healthy. Further testing is needed to ascertain if SCP-3578-2 can live forever.
When SCP-3578 comes in contact with a non-living thing, SCP-3578 will turn the object into SCP-3578-3 instantly. Instances of SCP-3578-3 instead of being mechanized seem to have their insides replaced with organs. Dissecting SCP-3578-3 reveals that it has a beating heart, working brain, lungs, etc. After being left for a few days SCP-3578-3 will seemingly rot, the number of days it takes to rot seems to depend on how big SCP-3578-3 is (smaller=less days and bigger=more days). SCP-3578-3 cannot be turned into SCP-3578-2. A dead human can be reanimated by turning into SCP-3578-3, It seems that SCP-3578-3 needs sustenance as when a human corpse is reanimated it can stay alive as long as it has sustenance. Further testing is needed to ascertain if SCP-3578-3 can remain alive forever if given sustenance.
