Item #: SCP-####

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP #### is to be held in a standard humanoid containment cell, and must be monitored at all times by at least one person of clearance level 2 or higher. SCP ####’s cell must be cleaned out once two out of three cameras are obscured, or once SCP ####-2 takes up more than 30% of the cell. All severed vines are to be disposed of in the on-site incinerator (see Test Log ####.1).

Special Containment Procedures Update: A freezing chamber is to precede the entrance to SCP ####’s cell. This chamber must remain at or below 0º celsius when not in use, and must be checked biweekly for leaks or malfunctions. (See Addendum ####.3).

Description: SCP #### is a humanoid entity, roughly 1.2 meters in height. SCP #### is clothed in a weathered, black coat and hood, and an orange mask depicting a jack o’lantern. SCP ####’s “skin” is a very dark green, and it’s texture and composition bears resemblance to vines. Protruding from SCP ####’s chest are several vine-like growths, leading to a large pumpkin (around 0.5 meters in height). This pumpkin, hereby referred to as SCP ####-2, grows vines and leaves out of itself, similar to that of an average pumpkin plant, but at a more rapid rate (around 0.5 times faster). SCP ####-2 doesn’t seem to require water, or sunlight. It appears to get it’s nutrients directly from SCP #### via the growths connecting them. SCP #### will grow continuously if left unattended, and does not show signs of slowing or weakening as it grows.

SCP #### is capable of speaking English, though it has not yet displayed the ability of more complex speech. SCP #### is always seen supporting SCP ####-2 from underneath. SCP #### has yet to let go of SCP ####-2, and always has at least one arm holding on to it. SCP #### seems hesitant to let go of SCP #### whenever it needs to use it’s hands for something. It would often refuse to do any task that would require both hands. SCP #### possesses below-average strength and an IQ of around 94. SCP #### will sit motionless in their cell when not being tested. Staff have attempted to provide SCP #### with various activities (Rubix Cube, books, coloring supplies, etc.), however SCP #### refused to use them. The only object that SCP #### paid any mind to was a Halloween themed coloring book. It skimmed through the book for a bit, then set it down and resumed it’s normal behavior.

Interview Log ####.1:

Interviewer: Dr. ███████

Interviewed: SCP ####

Forward: Interview with SCP #### after it’s discovery on 11/2/2███

<Begin Log>

Dr. ███████: Hello, ####.

[Pause]

Dr. ███████: My name is Dr. ███████.

[Pause]

Dr. ███████: [Dr. ███████ clears his throat] I’m sorry, can you speak?

[SCP #### nods its head]

Dr. ███████: Ah, good, well, can you explain what you were doing at [REDACTED]

SCP ####: I was… hiding.

Dr. ███████: Hiding? From what?

SCP ####: What Issac did.

Dr. ███████: Issac? Who is Issac?

[SCP #### holds SCP ####-2 up a bit higher]

Dr. ███████: Oh. So the pumpkin is named Issac?

[SCP #### nods]

Dr. ███████: I see. What exactly did Issac do?

SCP ####: [SCP #### lowers its head] Can’t…

**Dr. ███████: What?

SCP ####: I can’t, they’ll find me…

Dr. ███████: It’s alright. No one is going to hurt you here.

SCP ####: I can’t… [SCP #### puts its head down on SCP ####-2]

[Pause]

Dr. ███████: That’s alright, ####. We’re done here, you can leave.

<End Log>

Addendum ####.1: Following Interview Log ####.1, Dr. ███████ made the following comment;
“It’s clear that [SCP ####] is afraid of something, apparently something the pumpkin did. We may need to do some tests on that thing to see what the deal is with it. Additionally, we should look into any major incidents around where SCP #### was discovered.”

Interview Log ####.2:

Interviewer: Dr. ███████

Interviewed: SCP ####

Forward: Dr. ███████ intends to question SCP #### about several incidents in the [REDACTED] area

<Begin Log>

Dr. ███████: Good evening, ####.

SCP ####: [mumbling] llo’ doctor.

Dr. ███████: I have a few things I want to ask you about.

[SCP #### shuffles in it’s seat]

Dr. ███████: First off, you said you were “hiding” last time, correct?

[SCP #### nods]

Dr. ███████: How long were you hiding for?

SCP ####: [SCP #### pauses for a moment] prob’ly a day.

Dr. ███████: Just one day?

SCP ####: I think. Wasn’t for very long.

Dr. ███████: I see. [Dr. ███████ flips through his files, then pulls one page out] Do you happen to know anything about this? [Dr. ███████ places the page in front of SCP ####]

[SCP #### looks at the photo on the page, then recoils slightly]

Dr. ███████: Well, do you recognize it?

[SCP #### nods shakily]

Dr. ███████: Is this what Issac did?

[SCP #### takes a long pause, then slowly nods]

Dr. ███████: Thank you, ####. You can-

SCP ####: P-please don’t tell them.

Dr. ███████: Who ar- [Pause] I won’t. You can leave now.

<End Log>

Addendum ####.2: The article Dr. ███████ presented to SCP #### was a page from a newspaper, detailing several burned down buildings in a small town just outside of [REDACTED]. The town had only 12 small houses, 9 of them burned to the ground and one more severely damaged. Only 7 bodies were found leaving 14 supposed victims unaccounted for. The incident occurred on 10/31/2███.

Test Log ####-2.1: A sample of SCP ####-2’s vines was taken by Dr. Locke for examination and testing. The sample was placed in a pot of soil, and given water daily. The test took place over 42 days.

Test Log ####-2.1; Summary: The sample started out growing at the rate of an average pumpkin. It’s growth rate continued to accelerate over 6 days before reaching the growth rate of SCP ####-2. Around when the sample began producing buds (28 days), Dr. Locke noticed that the sample would stick to him if he touched it. On day 42, the sample had nearly produced a fully grown pumpkin. When Dr. Lock went to check the sample, it stuck onto him and several vines wrapped around his arm. [DATA EXPUNGED] After removing the sample from himself, Dr. Locke immediately terminated the test. The sample was incinerated.

Further testing of SCP ####-2 is to be put on hold until further notice.

Addendum ####.3: No personnel are to touch or approach SCP ####’s vines unless the vines are being removed. The vines are safe to touch as long as they are not growing. A freezing chamber is to be built preceding SCP ####’s cell to kill any vines that may manage to get through the door.
