Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a metal safe in a standard Site-██ containment room. Two video cameras are to be active constantly: one inside of the safe to observe SCP-XXXX, and one outside locked on the safe itself. Another camera is also located on the front of the safe to record any personnel that unlock the safe for any reason. A log is to be kept of each interaction with SCP-XXXX including the date, the time, and the purpose of interaction. Under no circumstances should SCP-XXXX come into contact with any food item. If for whatever instance food does come into contact with SCP-XXXX, it is to immediately be placed into the black chute outside of SCP-XXXX's containment room where the contaminated food item will be thoroughly incinerated.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a cutting board which measures 30cm by 38cm. SCP-XXXX is made from rowan wood (the center portion) and oak wood (the outer portions). This object has the ability to alter the taste of any food prepared on its surface. Using ingredients that have simply come into contact with SCP-XXXX's surface makes the resulting dish irresistible to any subject that consumes it. Non-food items do not appear to be affected.

Addendum: The SCP Foundation seized SCP-XXXX in ████████████, Bavaria when several reports came in regarding nausea, vomiting, mood shifts, extended fasting, depression, and fatigue after eating at a small cafe. The cafe was soon shut down due to improper storage of produce. Subjects that had been exposed to food that had come into contact with SCP-XXXX stated that they had lost their desire to eat anything else because nothing tasted good anymore. When provided uncontaminated food, the subjects would refuse consumption and instead ask for food from the cafe. This led to several deaths due to starvation. Tests are currently being issued on the subjects that have previously consumed food adulterated by SCP-XXXX.
