SCP-0814, alternatively known as "The Torment Tape" or, TTT, rather, is a VHS cassette 187 mm wide, 103 mm deep, 25 mm thick (7​3⁄8 × 4​1⁄16 × 1 inch) apparently used as an object of torture in the mid X100s. When 0814 is brought near a multimedia device of any form, it will turn into a black, mucus-like substance and seep into the device, and begin playing on the monitor of stated device. The device and monitor are to be identified as SCP-0814-1 and SCP-0814-2. Any and all Personnel viewing media played from the cassette will view their greatest fears in vivid detail and quality. Personnel are to be referred to as SCP-0814-3. The resolution of the recording is inherently 1080p HD, and cannot be changed, as to the recording, which runs at 60 frames per second.
After viewing the contents of 0814-2, 0814-3 will start to experience horrifying, metaphysical hallucinations of the recordings viewed on 0814-1. The worst hallucinations experienced by 0814-3 has resulted in the mutilation and death of multiple personnel, See LOG-0814 for detail. The media displayed on 0814-2 varies dependent on the subject viewing the media, the effect of SCP-0814 seems to effect all creatures with basic cognitive function - but paranormal activity ceases on animals such as worms, who possess no such thing.
Unusual cases of SCP-0814 were observed 0814-3 was documented to be a sociopath, psychopath, schizophrenic, or when 0814-3 possessed blindness, deafness, or is paraplegic. The subjects who suffer these disablities can not view any media displayed on 0814-2, the cause of this is unknown. Speculation believes 0814 attacks the nerves, rather than the brain itself.

SCP-0814 is to be kept away from all electronic devices, therefore prohibiting the foundation monitoring 0814. The SCP is to be locked within a metal vault, with an Exterior Height of 85.75 in,
