Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-5148 is to be contained in the smallest room possible that it can enter. SCP-5148 is to be chained at all times, it should not be unchained under any circumstances.The chains need to be made out of solid mercury, it’s believed that mercury calms down its neurological system. The chains need to be change once a week. A 24 hours surveillance is highly recommended, due to the fact that SCP-5148 is really unstable and unpredictable. It is currently contained in Site ██. SCP-5148 should only be feed vegeterian things, because meat grantly increase the agressivity of SCP-5148.

Description:

The entity is a biped creature approximately three meters in length. The creature has a deformed reindeer skull as its head. Two reindeer’s woods stick out of the side of its head.Mushroom grows out of its skull and some spots are covered in lichen. SCP-5148 has gloomy vantablack eyes, except when you look at it straight in the eye you can then see a burning orange pupil. Its jaw isdeformed, indeed its jaw measures about 25 cm. This monster has two thin long arms and It has two muscular legs that are covered in fur from about knee high until its ankles. The demon-like creature has four fingers and each one of them has a giant claw. A tail that measures approximately 2 meters is situated in the lower half of its back. The tail has spikes covering it and it looks too heavy for him, because its tail is always scraping the ground. It is believed that SCP-5148 is a demon that escaped from the underworld and that adapted to its environment.

History Log:

+First sighting

SCP-5148 was first sighted in Fall of ████ by an American spy sent to Russian during the cold war. We found a report that talked about this incident.

The year is ████, I was sent to Soviet Union as a spy to find their nuclear bomb’s plan. The end of Fall was near, our squad was asked to go investigate a strange sighting that a lumberjack claimed he saw deep in the Syberian forest while chopping down trees.

As soon as we were tasked with this mission, I got all geared up. I dressed with a fur coat embroidered with a little hammer and a sickle. I as well got my SKS¹. A few minutes later, lieutenant Vladimir arrived with his truck to drive us into the woods. Our squadron and I threw all of our stuff in the back of the car and we embarked in the vehicle. The road was covered in snow and had hole from the start of our journey to the final destination. Even if the conditions were harsh we all arrived safe and sound a few hours later. As we got out of our transport, I saw that it was night time already. I always liked it when it snowed at night, but little did I know that it will be the last time I get to appreciate a snowy night.

Vladimir devised us in groups of two, I was with a tall guy called John. A few seconds later, he ordered us to open our flashlights and to get moving. The first hour of our investigation was going smooth, but things were about to get bad real quick. I just had the time to do a few footsteps, before a huge shadow dashed in front of the radius of light that my flashlight emitted. Although we were nervous about what we just saw, we stayed cold blooded. Then, we hear the sound of someone stepping on a stick and leaves. We both stopped walking to concentrate on the noise that we heard. After, my comrade whispered to me that we should regroup with the rest of our crew. I nodded to him and we started sprinting towards the other light beam. We finally found our lieutenant, we then told him all about what we heard and saw. He then pulled out a little radio out of his pocket and told everyone to regroup at his coordinates.

About fifteen minutes had passed and only two groups showed up. Our superior told us that we shouldn’t panic and that the other groups were probably late, but deep down I knew he was lying. Suddenly, the wind started to blow harder, the temperature dropped and it started to snow even more. We were freezing, something was following us and we were in the middle of nowhere with no idea where we were. We were doomed to live the last few hours of our lives here.

Not long after, I started to pick up the smell of decomposed reindeer. Which was strange, because there was no sign of reindeer near. Then out of nowhere, we heard screeches and groans. We then heard the scream of one of our soldiers. We couldn’t see anything, because our flashlights weren’t working anymore. A few seconds later, the cloud that was covering the moon got blown away, so moonlight got through. I then saw a humongous creature looking at me. The monster had a reindeer skull for its face, probably where the scent of decomposed reindeer came from. Mushrooms were growing out of its skull and some lichen were his face covering it, but the scariest part was its jaw that measured about a foot. It was tall too, probably around seven feet high. Its legs were looking like the leg demon had in the bible. The monster had really long and thin arms as well.

I was trembling with fear, unable to move, I was sure my time had come like everybody else. Standing alone in the middle of the woods with the corpses of my unit laying on the ground and an atrocious creature looking straight into my eyes like it wanted to devourer my soul. I didn’t have a single drop of courage left in me. I’m thankful that I had the time to write what happened before dying. It’s now comg aft r m e Hep me…………

After hearing about this incident in ████, the foundation went to investigate it. They found nothing, except for ten dead soldiers and this report.

+Second Sighting 11/06/██ 

In ████, the foundation found SCP-5148 in the Syberian forest. When we encoutered SCP-5148, it was way more docile than the first report said. We tried to communicate with him, but we had no succes whatsoever. We tried to captured it, but as we came closer it became hostile towards us. We didn't know what were the extent of his strength at this time, so we shot it whit a tranquilizer. It supprise us that it fell on the ground with just one tranquilizer. It was probably simulating, but why? We then captured it and we incarcerated SCP-5148 into site ██.

Experimentation:

+Experimentation 1 

On 10/12/██, we started our first experiment on SCP-5148. We conducted an experiment to know if it has any regenerative power. The experiment went like that, we cut a little piece off its tail and broke on of its wood. We then procceded to wait a week, if need be we would have give it more time. Surprisingly, it took only a few hours to heal. On the other hand, its wood took a month to grow back, but it grew even bigger and sturdier than the last it had. A month later, we cut it's tail in half. Even so, it grew another one in a few hours only. We tried aswell with other par of his body, but it only worked with its tail and woods. As it turns out, it has decent regenerative hability, but not over all its body. We shouldn't keep cuting its wood off, or else they might becom too dangerous.

+Experimentation 2 

On, 26/4/██, we tried to communicate with SCP-5148. We tried many different speech method but each one of them resuslted in a big failure. We talk to it, showed him picture, we wrote to it and even talked to it in sign language, but none of that work. We tried speaking to it a second, it was about to fail, but then it started saying the same thing over and over again. It aswell shouted things in an unkown language. After listening to the audio tape, we were able to unscramble what the gibberish he was saying over and over meant. SCP-5148 said " You race is inferior too ours. You mere humans.", we weren't able to know what it shouted meant though. We concluded that it can speak English and it can understand what we say to him, but it doesn't want to talk to our " race", so initiating a dialogue with SCP-5148 is impossible.

+Experimentation 3 

The third experiment we did on it occurend on 11/6/██. During this experiment we tried to discover its origin. We took samples of SCP-5148 skin and of its skull. Dr. Sophia Light and other researcher then analysed the samples. We did an interesting discovry, the sample of its skin aren't from this world, but the one of its skull come from a reindeer. We created a theory that SCP-5148 is a demon from the underwold that adapted to the Syberian climat. Its real origin a far beyond our comprehension, we will probably never know the truth of this demon.

+Experimentation 4 

The final experiment began on 23/9/██. Dr. Frederick Heiden and some other researcher tried finding a ressource that make SCP-5148 less active. Day after day, we tried new ressources but none of them worked, until we tried mercury. Dr. Heiden gave it mercury and it directly affected SCP-5148 neurological system. The next they gave it titanium. Titanium did the opposite effect that we wanted, SCP-5148 became out of control. SCP-5148 made 11 of our researcher vanished into thin air in the blink of an eye. The only two survivor left were Dr. Heiden and another researcher. Both of them didn't saw what happened. SCP-5148 was too fast for the human eye to react.

Addendum

After the incident that happened on the fourth experimentation, the O5 council declared that all experiment on SCP-5148 should be suspended until further devloppement. Its power is too dangerous to be messing with. We believe that if SCP-5148 uses its full power earth might past history.

SCP-5148 tried once to escape. Usually, SCP-5148 always have its eyes closed, but one time he opened them and just by looking at the wall in front of it, it burned dow into ashes even though the wall was made of a non flammable material. It the started casually walking the foundation's corridor. SCP-5148 would have escaped if the fourth experimentation wouldn't have occurered. Many soldier put mercury inside a bucket and threw the bucket on SCP-5148. It then fell in a deep slumber and we go it back in its cell.
