Item #: SCP-5001
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-5001 are to be captured and stored in Site 17's storage facilities and should never be allowed to come within close vicinity to a window facing outwards, any noticeable changes in the color of SCP-5001 are to be reported to the research staff of level 4 or higher. If SCP-5001 is completely absent of all color SCP-5001 is to be reported to the on-site security team.
Description: SCP-5001 are large, white curtains spanning 120 inches (304.8 centimeters). SCP-5001 appear to be non-anomalous curtains, and can very easily be mistaken for regular everyday curtains. SCP-5001's anomalous abilities only begin to manifest after a certain amount of time hung on a window (roughly 1-3 weeks) looking outwards, SCP-5001 will begin to turn from white to a dark grey, eventually becoming completely absent in color. Once SCP-5001 reaches the complete absence of color SCP-5001 will begin to produce black moths identified as Ascalapha odorata (hereby referred to as SCP-5001-1). SCP-5001-1 will act as SCP-5001's protectors stinging all of those nearby, pain is described as similar to a wasp or bee sting. If any human or animal attempts to get within 2 feet of the curtains the individual will then be swarmed by the several instances of SCP-5001-1 eventually being dragged into the curtains without a trace. Any attempts to send an individual into SCP-5001 with video or audio recording devices have failed, and any attempts of recovery have been deemed futile.
