Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class:Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a small containment cell in Site-19. SCP-XXXX-A is to be on its designated pedestal at all times in the center of its cell within SCP-XXXX-B. Four cameras placed in the corners of the cell facing SCP-XXXX should be active at all hours. Two armed guards are to be present outside the cell at all times to ensure that there is no unauthorized entry. No D-Class personnel is to enter the cell under any circumstance, any attempt of D-class entry is to be stopped and reported. Upkeep of SCP-XXXX cell will be done by research staff of level 2 or higher.

If SCP-XXXX is missing or SCP-XXXX-A is missing from SCP-XXXX-B, standard containment breach procedures should immediately be put in effect. Staff should lock down the site and review security tapes to find who took SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-A. Once the perpetrator or perpetrators are found they are to be apprehended or if they are found to have used SCP-XXXX-A they are to be terminated. If SCP-XXXX-A is found outside of SCP-XXXX-B, it is to be removed by staff wearing a pair of thick insulated gloves, making sure SCP-XXXX-A does not touch the skin. It is then to be placed back into SCP-XXXX-B on the pedestal.

Description: SCP-XXXX is comprised of SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B. SCP-XXXX-B is a small wooden container measuring 15.3 CM in length and 4.9 CM in width. The lid of SCP-XXXX-B has a small metal anchor, presumably made of brass, embedded into the wood. The inside of the container is lined with blue felt. It is unknown to researchers if the lining of the container holds any properties aiding in the containment of SCP-XXXX-A. The container itself seems to offer some means of containment as research staff has been able to hold SCP-XXXX without the need for protective gloves.

SCP-XXXX-A is a small brass bosun whistle measuring approximately 11.7 CM in length. Its appearance is that of a simple bosun whistle. At the end of the whistle, there is a small anchor imprint. The whistle as well does not appear to have any damage for its supposed age. The whistle holds no unusual markings that would be considered out of place for a bosun whistle.

Addendum April 1904, Discovery of SCP-XXXX by the foundation: SCP-XXXX was first brought to the attention of the foundation by the Russian government amidst the Russo-Japanese war. Czar Nicholas II approached the foundation after his navy's embarrassing loss at Port Arthur. The Czar described to the foundation that while officially the Russian government claimed the loss was due to torpedo fire by the Japanese. The Czar informed foundation staff that the reality of the battle was much different. The Czar informed foundation staff that during the battle Russian ships were attacked by a 17-th century frigate. This ship, according to the few surviving sailors moved like a "ghost across the sea, leaving no waves in the water as it moved". The Russians were ordered to fire at the frigate, but it took no damage from artillery fire. When coming into contact with the Russian ships the frigate stopped and the crew of the frigate boarded. It was unknown how they came aboard, sailors reported that they "appeared out of thin air like ghosts."
