Item #: SCP-2023 - "VINDICTIVE PEOPLE"
Object Class: Kether
Special Containment Procedures: There are currently 82 confirmed instances of SCP-. Of these 51 are confined, 5 have died of different causes, the remainder either being regarded as "at large", "not correctly identified", "unconfirmed" or "ambiguous classification". All contained SVP- require special handling to avoid a state of fixation to occur, and as such are kept in isolated conditions, with SCP staff rarely gaining access. There are three facilities containing SCP- specimen, one in Canada west of Seattle in an underground chemical storage facility, one in the Netherlands in the city of Almere in a large nondescript company warehouse facility, and one in mainland China in the city of Ghangzou. All containment facilities suggest they are typical comfortable hotel rooms of varying luxury levels, corresponding to how well each guest behaves. The best behaved guests receive a suite with all amenities, but are barred from any outside access and only mefdia content is made available of fictional or deceased persons to avoid aforementioned fixation. All are fed well, are randomly fed an anasthetic for a medical or dentail checkup. They have access to training facilities. All communication with guests is done by voice synthesizer, and no mention is made of the SCP organization, although several SCP- guests were aware of the SCP organization before being contained.
Description: SCP- is a phenomenon identified over decades, but after detailed pattern recognition study done in the year 201* by a set of common symptoms were identified which greatly helped the specific instances of SCP-. Each instance is a mostly normal human being of any age and no identifying characteristics. These are by and large otherwise normal human beings. The study concludes that the number of apprehended, dead or contained individuals is less than 10% of current global population of SCP- specimen. Most of these individuals stay unaware for decades that something special of supernatural is happening with them, but some smarter ones gradually find out that something is strange, that they are the cause and that they can consciously create the effect. These latter few can become epecially dangerous.
SCP- are people who go through life with an above average desire to find a partner, to find love or otherwise enter in to a relationship. This is typically a desire of a romantic nature, but it can easily also be a desire to be recognized as an artist, or in a specific professional capacity. This desire is most likely the result of their unconscious effect, as it has subtly influences people around them when they were young, having instilled a sense of alienation in most of them. Typically an average average percentage of these individuals exhibit symptoms of a range of symptoms contiguous with psychiatric Borderline disorder, and those can cause considerable impact on society.
The unique effect of SCP= individuals occurs when they fall in love, and are rejected. When this occurs, these individuals are likely enter a state of severe Limerency, where they long for what they couldn't attain, and enter into a sequence of ever more contrived fantasies of a vengeful character to the individuals that they perceive have rejected them. In a few cases this seething resetnment and longing can extend to an entire class of people, which can be especially societally disruptive. It is suggested that certain historical events of the last few hundred years where instances of SCP- became fully aware on what impact they had and used his mechanism to attain considerable political power or worse - but hard evidence can rarely be ascertained after the fact.
SCP- individuals can, as indicated, have a highly destructive impact on people around them, as their revenge fantasies manifest. Some instances of SCP have been known to impact collateral damage on bystanders, rivals, whole companies where they were fired, or felt slighted. For those instances of SCP- that have a vivid or cruel imagination, the impact of their hatred can subject their victims to the most horrendous types of torture, sickness, accidents.
Addendum SCP-: There is evidence that at least several organizations, including a terrorist cell working from the middle east, had captured at least one instance of SCP- and use CIA manual techniques to instill romantic fixation on a random target on the planet, as to trigger an episode of vindictive feelings and manifestation of that vengeance in the most cruel manner possible. This caused the state of a Saudi state official in 200* which triggered renewed interest in possible abuse of these individuals by well-informed organizations. There is at least some evidence that a highly professional organization uses one instance of SCP- to actively threaten and blackmail male billionaires and every few months succeeds in making a compelling case as to make these targets for coercive blackmail pay large amounts of bitcoins.
Example of one specimen of SCP-.
The individual is a female, age 41 born in the city of Bern in Switserland in the year 19. Her youth was in all ways mostly unremarkable. At age 17 she suffered an severe episode of severe depression, after which she was registered effexor, an SSRI/SNRI antidepressant of which it is known to be especially difficult to sttop using it. At age 23 the individual was hospitalized for severe Menginitis after a long survival trek in Wales, and she was places two weeks in inducec coma. During this period she experienced the most horendously hellish nightmares and she became convinced she had died and gone to hell, as she didn't receive her antidepressants during her convalesscence. After the ideal this individual was sullen, withdrawn, exhibited antisocial personality traits, and had become particularly unattractive bordering on obesity. She grew gradually more lonely and was hospitalized for suicidal ideation at age 26. During hospitalization, she developed romantic feelings for her therapist, who biefly had s secret erotic relationship with her, but ended the relationship after a few weeks. This resulted in a state of exalted fixation in the individual, as she withdrew more, became motly catatonic with depression. A subsequent theapist in another Swiss clinic becamse aware of the depth of her feelings of resentment and helped her cope with her vicious and enduring hatred for her former therapist by letting her vent her feelings of having been slighted by art. This art grew ever more morbid and her fantasies ever more pathological. After sevral months the therapist was informed the previous therapist had disappeared. Years later the corpose of the formner therapist was discovered. Apparently the target of this particular instance of SCP-** had manifested her hatred in a sequence of vey detailed fantasies. Apparently this man had stepped into an open elevator shaft, and had fallen behind an elevator, having become helplessly caught there for several months, which was regarded by many as completely impossible. The individual was apparently dragged up and down for months, eviscerated over and over by the motions of the elevator, all the time hearing his colleagues share their ideas about him while they were travelling up and down in the elevator. The amount of suffering this therapist endured exceeded the biological capacity of a human being, as somehing distinctly unnatural kept him alive for all these months. Others suggest that he fed himself eating a typical of organic lubricant used by the elevator. This case attracted the attention of a nearby solitary SCP investigator years after the fact when the second therapist, terrified of the art of his patient and how closely the art matched the torture experienced by the first therapist. Apparently this frightened him to a degree that he had feigned his own heart attack and moved from Switzerland to Italy to not excite even the remotest of chance on a similar outcome. SCP studied focusssed in on three similar incidents of a lesser magnitude that occured after this first one.
In 198* a special meeting of international departments was convened to study this particular effect that was first hypothized to be he result of an external effect or force, but as case examples mounted it gradually became clear these effects "quite often" centered on similar individuals who for no apparent reason had the ability to fixate on specific targets, after having experienced hartbreaking scorn, and to manifest these intricate vengeance scenarios. The magnitude of these vengeance manifestations depends a lot on the imagination of the spccific instance of SCP-, the general intelligence, how aware they are of what they are doing and the severity of the heartbreak. In most cases the revenge fantasy ends qucikly, in an accidental maiming or death - but in extreme cases the toment inflicted can last well beyond what would ordainarily be regarded as biologically possible.
