Item #: SCP-5083
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-5083 is to be kept locked inside a diamond-encrusted titanium container at Site-19 that features a single reinforced door, no windows or cameras, and only approved personnel are allowed inside. If a containment breach occurs, every field within 15 km is to be searched thoroughly for any traces of discolored grass. When trying to capture SCP-5083, the use of goggles and avoiding to look at SCP-5083 is necessary.
Description: SCP-5083 is capable of shapeshifting, so measuring its height is near impossible, though it is an estimated two meters. SCP-5083 exudes a constant odour, described by researchers as "rotting" and like a "punctured abscess".
SCP-5083 is described as a cognitohazardous lump of grass, most of the time humanoid in shape. SCP-5083 can phase through and consume any matter in its way, so containing it can be difficult at times, though it only does this when provoked. The only known way of provoking SCP-5083 so far is through sight and hearing. When one sees SCP-5083, it will slowly approach and stalk the subject, usually just standing somewhere and staring, until it is so close that it absorbs the subject. There has also been reports of SCP-5083 being provoked and stalking the subject even if the subject never saw SCP-5083.
Discovery: It is estimated that SCP-5083 has been around for 500 years, due to its biological immortality. It was first discovered by [DATA EXPUNGED] in █████████ in 1636, when he was on a routine check up of his crops. He spotted SCP-5083 in the middle of a field, standing completely still. He thought nothing of it and went home after caring for his crops. His mutilated corpse was found the next day by his wife in his bedroom. This information was recovered by team [REDACTED] in 2008.

Prof. Burringham: Did you see it after you escaped?
[REDACTED]: N-no, I couldn't move. My body was paralyzed.
