Instance of SCP-XXXX-3

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
A 30 meter tall wall surrounding SCP-XXXX has been built to prevent its spread. Any subject entering SCP-XXXX is to attatch itself with a 5 km rope fastened to the wall as a means of finding back to the wall once inside SCP-XXXX.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is an area within an overgrown broadleaf forest, hosting an anomalous fungal species in abundance. The fungus resembles Amanita muscaria but with a cyan hue, though DNA samples of it do not match any known species. The fungus constantly emits a transparent gas, inhalation of which gradually impares orientation and alters perception of organisms. The gas permeates solid material, rendering conventional protection such as gas masks ineffective.

Subjects affected by the gas attempting to exit SCP-XXXX will consistently fail to follow a direction that would lead them outside of the area, instead turning while believing to walk in straight lines and percieving previously linear paths to curve.

SCP-XXXX is devoid of native animalian life safe for insectoid creatures of unknown species. They hide until a subject's inhalation of the gas has exceeded X minutes, at which point they gradually emerge around the subject in concentrations proportionate to a subject's time spent within SCP-XXXX. By this point the subject's perception is altered to the point of recognizing the creatures as diminutive friendly humanoids and critters. See addendum Addendum-XXXX-A for a comprehensive list of creatures inhabiting SCP-XXXX.

The fungus and creatures within SCP-XXXX share a mutualistic relationship, where the fungus is the main source of nutriance for the creatures in the absence of animalian life while the migration of the creatures help spread the spores of the fungus.

Addendum-XXXX-A: List of creatures inhabiting SCP-XXXX.
Designation Description
SCP-XXXX-1 A creature ranging from approximately 30-50 cm in length with an abdomen ending in a stinger resembling a cone shaped hat, compound eyes with creases resembling shoe soles and husk patterns drawing out a face on its metathorax and beard on its prothorax, resulting in a vague imitation of a gnome.
SCP-XXXX-2 A creature ranging from approximately 10-20 cm in length with patterned wings, compound eyes with crease patterns resembling bobbed hair, a proboscis with dents consistent with a pan flute, drooping limbs with urticating hair circling its abdomen like a dress, husk patterns drawing out a simplistic face on its vertex, shoulder blades on its thorax, resulting in a vague imitation of a pixie.
SCP-XXXX-3 A creature ranging from approximately 70-100 cm in length with pincers resemling leporine ears (antenae resembling antlers) and husk patterns drawing out a nose on its vertex and upper paws on its thorax, resulting in a vague imitation of a rabbit. Its abdomen and limbs resemble that of an antlion, though these bodyparts are commonly concealed when pertruding from holes in the ground.
SCP-XXXX-4 A creature approximately 7 meters in length resembling a caterpillar. It lays eggs of all other organisms native to SCP-XXXX, the kind of which depends on what it ingests immediately prior. See addendum-XXXX-B for a full list of correlated ingesitons and creatures birthed.
Addendum-XXXX-B: Resulting offspring of SCP-XXXX-4 based on ingestion.
Ingested Result
Human male SCP-XXXX-1
Human female SCP-XXXX-2
Other Animalian organism SCP-XXXX-3 or [REDACTED]
