Special Containnment Procedures: SCP-5942 can only be accessed by Level-█ and upper levels of SCP Hierarchy, and it shall be guarded by 2 SCP Field Agents at all times, picked randomly, with shift-rotation at ██:██ ██. After the end of each shift, all SCP Field Agents involved shall have their memories erased from the moment they were assigned to the shift. A Field Agent cannot work 2 shifts in a row, and so, each shift should be separated by a timespan of 5 days to avoid any possible neurological damage. All personnel that is found trying to access SCP-5942 without prior authorization from Level-█ or upper levels of SCP Hierarchy, shall be detained and interrogated. If no collaboration is made in the Interrogation, the detainee shall be executed, due to the matter that there is no information on how the detainee got his information and when, making the erasing of the memory useless. Due to the nature of the SCP in question, all personnel who is allowed to research SCP-5942 cannot carry any objects with them unless authorized by Dr.██████, and such research must be accompanied by the Doctor earlier mentioned. SCP-5942 shall be put on a stainless steel table, on the middle of a 5mx5mx3m, climate-controlled room at Site ██.

Description: SCP-5942 is a red and white Purse, made by ███ ███ ████████. It is estimated that it was made between the 1960's and 1980's [CARBON DATING STUDY - AWAITING ANALYSIS AND APPROVAL BY DR.██████]. The Purse has the manufacturer's markings, and it is possible to evidence several use marks. It is known that it was part of a Collection released to the Public, yet it is not known how and why this purse has such characteristics. It is made out of leather, and has a zipper on top, which grants access to the interior of the purse. A Carbon-Dating Study has found that the leather used in the purse is from the same time as the manufacturing of such.

Upon inspecting the interior of SCP-5942, it can be possible to witness some sort of portal which leads to, possibly, another place on Earth, or even maybe another Planet or Dimension [VOLUNTEERING STUDY - AWAITING FOR THE APPROVAL BY ██-█████ TO USE PATIENT D-████]. Photos of the content have been taken, but are currently Confidential. The only information that can be released is that it is similar, in some way, to our Day/Night Cycle, and Ecossystem. It has been possible to witness Trees, Dirt, Grass, Light and Darkness, Wind and Rain, although some of these mentioned forms appear to be modified/distorted from our reality, hence why the possibility of being another Planet or even Dimension has been taken into consideration. There hasn't been any contact with communicating life-form, or even the eyesight of one.

Acquisition: SCP-5942 was obtained and taken into the Foundation's care upon the possible correlation between SCP-5942 and several cases of missing people, in the region of ████████. According to Police Records [RELEASED TO PUBLIC], SCP-5942 was sold initially by a Woman called ███████. The first person to buy it, Mr. ████, bought the so-called purse for ██ euros. 2 days later, the disappearing of Mr. ████ had been reported to the Local Authorities, and the location of the purse was unknown. After interrogating the Seller, such admitted that the purse was seen a block away from her stand, and, with no sight from the buyer, for a total of 10 minutes, presumed that the content had been abandoned, and so retrieved it, for later to be sold again. The same cycle continued, and until SCP's interference on the investigations, a total of 10 people had disappeared, including the original owner, ███████, and a second owner (after the disappearing of the first), her son, ███████. Due to the age of this purse, possibly more people could have disappeared, yet, only the earlier mentioned number could be directly linked.

"On the ██/██/██, Officer ████ was on a patrol around ███████ parish. While driving back to our local headquarters, the Vehicle came to an halt after a Man, later identified as Mr. █████, ran to the front of the car, making the Officer engage the parking brake to avoid hitting Mr. █████. After pulling over the vehicle, and running over to Mr. █████, with the intention of aiding with any possible injuries, Officer ████ saw "visible expression of fear, in a man with poor hygiene, completely lost in space.".

Police Record #2:

"On the ██/██/██, after 2 reports of disappearings, and both being possibly linked to Mrs. ███████, and the selling of her antique purse, Vehicle ██, consisting of Officers █████ and █████, was mobilized to "Rua de █████████", with court authorization to arrest and, in the shortest amount of time possible, interrogate Mrs. ███████. Upon arrival, both Officers knocked on the door of Mrs. ███████, and, after showing court papers that prove that they have full jurisdiction to arrest Mrs. ███████, there was an initial unrest by part of Mrs. ███████, but after explaining the situation, collaboration by her part had start being made. Due to current law, Mrs. ███████ can only stay jailed until 15 days after the arrest, and so, the Interrogation has been scheduled to ██/██/██, and such will be led by Detective. █████."

Detective. █████.: Alright Mrs. ███████ ██. Today you are here, if you may not know, due to the missing of Mr. ████. Do you recognize this name?

Mrs. ███████ ██: Mr. ████? I have no clue who you are talking about. I meet tons of people everyday, I'm a shopkeeper. I see people, sell them stuff, and the cycle repeats.

Detective. █████.: Alright then. On the ██, where were you?

Mrs. ███████ ██: Well, I was in my shop, as always.

Detective. █████.: You were in your shop… And tell me, in that day, you sold something, and somehow, managed to get it back in your hands.

Mrs. ███████ ██: I have no clue what you are talking about.

Detective. █████.: You see, we know the Victim, Mr. ████, went to your shop on that day, bought an Antique Purse, and went missing. And somehow, the next day, you managed to have the purse again. Tell me, did you kill Mr. ████? Remember: Collaborate, or the Court will not like to hear about what you're doing now.

Mrs. ███████ ██: Look, alright.I have no idea what happened to Mr. ████. As I said before, he was one of the many customers I see everyday. He came here, saw the purse, and bought it. After he bought it, perhaps 5-10 minutes, I decided to close the store and go take a walk. It was the middle of the afternoon, and I needed to take a break. While I was walking, I saw the purse on a bench. I looked to it in desmay, and I saw no one, not even the new owner. I stayed there for a while, maybe 5 minutes, maybe even more to be sure it was abandoned, still no sight of the guy. I decided to snatch it, and well, keep it.

Detective. █████.: Your alibi matches. We have Surveillance Footage showing you leaving the store and closing it, and coming back 30 minutes after. You're lucky we didn't see you kidnapping Mr. ████ though.

Mrs. ███████ ██: Look, Im telling you, on my Son's grave. I have no clue what happened to him. All I know is that the purse was abandoned, and so I took it. Perfectly legal, it was abandoned.

"On the ██/██/██, after Dispatch receiving a call, and such being rerouted to our department, Vehicle ██, consisting of Officers █████ and █████, was mobilized to "Rua de █████████". Upon arrival, both Officers saw Mr. ████████, with a visible expression of fear and despair, waiting for the officers at his House Entry. Mr. ████████ said there that his mother, Mrs. ███████, had been missing for around 1 day. Upon asking the reason for the exit of Mrs. ███████, and the time, Mr. ████████ said, in a elevated tone, possibly due to being afraid something wrong happened to his mother, that she had gone to sell her antique purse to a customer, and that she would only take 15 minutes since the customer was waiting for her on the other side of the street. Upon asking if any complaints were possibly received by this customer, possibly raising the fact that Mrs. ███████ was kidnapped/lost track on his way to the meeting, and such had not been made, Mr. ████████ said that until now, no one has said anything about any pendant deal. After trying to calm down, to try and get some more information, Mr. ████████ also said that he had attempted to find his mother, only to find the purse on a bench 200 meters from his home. We reached the conclusion that this disappearing can be related with the 7 disappearings that have happened this month. We decided not to confiscate the purse due to the fact that the court must be contacted, and we must be allowed authorization for such. We decided not to interrogate Mr. ████████, since we do not believe that he had anything to do with the missing, and the fact there is a significant lack of evidence.".
