Instances of SCP-3XXX-1 on the tarmac at ██████████ ████████████████████

Item #: SCP-3XXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Due to it's urban location and immobility, ██████████ █████████████ ████████ shall be staffed by Foundation personnel. The Approach Lighting Systems (ALS) with sequenced flashers, and touchdown zone (TDZ) lighting will be disabled. All air traffic inbound to SCP-3XXX will be rerouted by Foundation personnel with high cognitohazard resistance who are commanding the control tower. No aircraft shall be directed to taxi to SCP-3XXX. All ground personnel questioning the viability of SCP-3XXX will be told that it is undergoing maintenance. Any non-foundation ground personnel or civilians who come in contact with instances of SCP-3XXX-1 or SCP-3XXX-2 will be administered Class C amnestics, and have false memories implanted as deemed necessary. Members of MTF Pi-1 ("City Slickers") with special cognitohazard training will remain on standby to assist in containment or neutralization of instances of SCP-3XXX-1 and SCP-3XXX-2. In the event of a containment breach, Any Foundation personnel showing any effects of succumbing to the cognitohazardous effects of SCP-3XXX shall be administered Class C Amnestics and reassigned to a different detail. All known instances of SCP-3XXX-1 are to be dissasembled and transported to Site 19. All known instances of SCP-3XXX-2 are to be contained using standardized anomalous humanoid protocols at Site 17 indefinitely.

Description: SCP-3XXX is an aircraft runway, measuring 12,079 feet in length by 200 feet in width, located at ██████████ International Airport. It is equipped with an Approach Lighting System(ALS) with sequenced flashers, and touchdown zone (TDZ) lighting, and an Engineered Materials Arresting System (EMAS).

SCP-3XXX’s anomalous properties can manifest any time an aircraft successfully lands on it, resulting in the manifestation of SCP-3XXX-1 and SCP-3XXX-2, as well as a cognitohazard that affects all crew personnel communicating, directing, or otherwise controlling the successful landing and disembarkation of SCP-3XXX-1 in any way. The anomalous properties do not manifest with every aircraft that lands on SCP-3XXX, instead appearing to manifest at random. There has been no correlation discovered between manifestations and and other data gathered to this date. Manifestations appear to occur approximately ██% of the time.

SCP-3XXX-1 is an aircraft that appears to be a perfect clone of the aformentioned landing aircraft. Instances of SCP-3XXX-1 are perfect clones of the original craft in every way, including registration numbers, serial identifying numbers on aircraft components, and transponders. All cargo and inanimate objects on SCP-3XXX-1 appear to be perfect duplicates of the original objects. Flight recorders recovered from known instances of SCP-3XXX-1 and their original aircraft are physically identical, but their contents are not. The flight recorders recovered from SCP-3XXX-1 in all cases contain no timestamped data prior to their manifestation, coinciding with the successful landing of the original aircraft. FAA officials furthermore report that they have no records of duplicate filings of the same flight plan, and no records of any radio or radar contact with a second aircraft that would match the description of a manifestation of SCP 3XXX-1. In every instance, the first contact with SCP-3XXX-1 by any means comes after the original aircraft has successfully landed on SCP-3XXX.

SCP-3XXX-1 will become immediately noticeable to ATC personnel upon the successful landing of the original craft, as it will appear on their secondary surveillance radar to have the identical transponder code (squawk) as the original aircraft. SCP-3XXX-1 will also initiate radio contact, and appear to be on final approach to SCP-3XXX. Unless otherwise interfered with, SCP-3XXX-1 will be allowed to land and disembark as any normal aircraft, despite shared radio callsigns and transponder discrepancies or communication issues, due to the cognitohazardous effect of SCP-3XXX.

SCP-3XXX-2 are perfect duplicates of pilots, crew, and passengers that arrived on the original aircraft. They appear to have the same clothing, possessions, identity, memories, and knowledge of those from the original aircraft. DNA Sequencing shows that all instances of SCP-3XXX-2 are genetically identical to their counterparts, with the exception of [REDACTED].

The cognitohazardous effect emitted by SCP-3XXX makes ATC and other personnel that come into contact with both the original aircraft, passengers, and instances of SCP-3XXX-1 and SCP-3XXX-2, to assume that the situation is completely normal and allow for the landing and de-boarding of passengers in a manner adhering to normal protocol. Even once both craft have taxied to their terminal, and both planes eventually disembark, all personnel and civilians on the ground seem not to notice the duplication effects on the craft, crew, and passengers, and find the existence of both SCP-3XXX-1 and SCP-3XXX-2 to be completely normal. Passengers and crew, and their subsequent iterations of SCP-3XXX-2 have shown to react to the presence of each other with great distress, confusion, and in multiple cases, anger. In all cases, none can agree about which one is "real". Many cases lead to violent attacks upon each other. See incident logs.
