Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature and size of SCP-XXXX, it is too costly to contain within a standard site. The area in which SCP-XXXX manifests is to be routinely checked by foundation personnel on the oil rigs surrounding SCP-XXXX. If SCP-XXXX manifests, a single D-Class personnel is to be permitted to enter for "testing". Foundation personnel are forbidden to go inside of SCP-XXXX. No ships of any kind should be allowed to pass through the manifestation zone of SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 210ft (64m) x 311ft (94.8m) Offshore Oil Rig which manifests in a 110 mile-radius around X: ██.███ and Y-██.███, in the Gulf of Mexico. A door on the pillar of the rig is believed to be the only entry point onto SCP-XXXX's deck, as all attempts from air have ended in failures, and despite being observed for ██ years, the door, as for the entire external makeup of SCP-XXXX, shows no sign of rusting. All current attempts to destroy SCP-XXXX have ended in failure, as it seems impervious to current technology and natural disasters, such as hurricanes. It is unknown if SCP-XXXX is actively drilling for oil. SCP-XXXX seems to begin drilling for oil upon manifestation, even if the area it had been searching hadn't had oil. The oil appears to demanifest along with SCP-XXXX, however.
The interior of SCP-XXXX is limited by the area seen through the door's window panels. The inside of SCP-XXXX has become rusted further since the discovery of SCP-XXXX, and the room inside is disproportionate to the space inside the pillar. the Further exploration of SCP-XXXX is impossible due to it's anomalous properties, and all further testing is to be done outside the structure.
SCP-XXXX will manifest once every 3-10 months. Following this, it will remain neutral until provoked by entering the structure via the door. SCP-XXXX will then demanifest. It is currently unknown what happens to the subject, as all radios, trackers and other tracking devices seem to cease function, as it is no longer possible to communicate following the event. Furthermore, all observers seem to forget the events prior to demanifestation. Note: This event will only begin once all limbs of the subject are behind the door.
Addendum:
There are no current records for which company currently runs SCP-XXXX, and as such, it is believed to be unregistered.
SCP-XXXX was first discovered following a string of missing person incidents in 19██; 50 people went missing in the gulf, presumably through a cruise. The foundation bought out 2 oil rigs in the gulf, and begun investigating the gulf. SCP-XXXX manifested 5 months following the missing people event, and was first interacted with on ██/██/19██.
Incident XXXX-1:
At 08:00AM on ██/██/19██, the first exploration mission into SCP-XXXX begun. The expedition ended soon after, at 08:30AM, following the disappearance, and subsequent demanifestation, of the SCP-XXXX and the exploration team, presumed deceased. Further exploration of SCP-XXXX has been put on hold until further notice.
Incident XXXX-2:
At 1:34PM on ██/██/20██, deceased wildlife begun floating to the surface in the radius of SCP-XXXX. The area begun to emit butane and methane, gases normally found in Petrolium. 6 minutes following this, SCP-XXXX manifested and began excreting a mixture of oil and blood (later found to be human blood). A sample of the mixture was taken into nearby Site-██. The mixture was shown to be highly acidic. The sample remains in a dense glass jar in the Anomalous Containment Wing of the Site. No personnel were harmed in the incident.
