Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a subterranean cavern with an area of 200km. No light source as great as a candle should be detected within 50m of the entrance into SCP-XXXX’s containment. All guards must be equipped with high range non-lethal weapons. There should be at least 100 guards guarding SCP-XXXX at one time. SCP-XXXX should not be provided with food unless asked for by it’s diplomats.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a subterranean humanoid species called the Namars with above average intelligence. A usual SCP-XXXX has a long slender body with little muscle mass. The head is a perfect sphere with a white circle in the middle, possibly serving as an eye. All SCP-XXXX have pitch black bodies with the only exception being the white circle on the head. A usual SCP-XXXX lives to be ███ years old. Most SCP-XXXX by the age of 2 can start to figure out algebraic equations and are capable of complex thinking.
When light is shown near an instance of SCP-XXXX it will start to rapidly generate heat. This effect has only been known to happen when light in the visible spectrum is shown. If a candle is shown 1m from a SCP-XXXX the surrounding area will heat up to 120f. This is much alike to black-body radiation but is not exactly related to it. After interviews with SCP-XXXX it has been determined that without darkness they cannot see, much like humans are without light.
The only known group of SCP-XXXX is in a subterranean cave in █████ with a population of 3,000. They’re civilization closely recognizes London in the 1800s. The main diet of a SCP-XXXX is mainly fungi with a small amount of arthropod.
Addendum:
Dr.████’s notes:
Because of SCP-XXXX’s extremely high capacity for learning and intelligence, we could start a recruitment process. Problem is most of them don’t trust the Foundation and the strange ability they have with light.
