Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

Description: SCP-XXXX is a black 15cm x 20cm leatherbound notebook with a series of unknown glyphs present on the cover. While there is no known language that can directly translate the glyphs on the cover, several of the words that have been made out can be translated into Filipino, the most common word to appear on the cover being "Halimaw," translating into "Monster." SCP-XXXX appears to have a thickness of 1 centimeter, although there is no known way to count how many pages are present in the book. SCP-XXXX is also weightless when attempts to weigh it are made, either by mechanical or digital scales, however, subjects who hold SCP-XXXX report an "uneasy weight upon their shoulders."

Observing the spine seems to bring out different results. Subjects report reading various titles, and it seems that these titles affect the world the subject is drawn into from opening SCP-XXXX. It can be guessed that the more the word "Monster" or any other synonym to Monster is repeated, the deeper one goes into the various pocket worlds of SCP-XXXX. There is no author present on any of the variations of the titles on the spine.

When subjects open SCP-XXXX, the first page, appearing to be blank for a moment, emits a violent flash in bright pink. Anyone exposed to the flash of light is instantly drawn into one of many pocket worlds inside of SCP-XXXX, including those behind any form of glass (see Incident####). The flash does not appear from digital sources, such as cameras, and does not affect anyone viewing the SCP from these methods. After approximately five seconds, all subjects who were exposed to the flash disappear.

Camera footage shows that these subjects are actually dragged in by multiple "shadowy tentacles." Despite not being able to fit through the page, subjects are seemingly "sucked in," their bodies warping and distorting until finally through the page. The length of these tentacles seems indefinite, and have been proven to:

  • Grab subjects exposed to the flash from up to 1km.
  • Go through 5cm of bulletproof glass without damaging it.
  • Go through a closed 10cm metal door and dragging subjects through it without having them make physical contact with the door.
  • Sustain small-arms fire without breaking.
  • Go undetected through concrete walls.
  • Move up to 50mph through concrete walls.

The only known method of stopping the tentacles is to expose it to fire. If any of the tentacles are exposed to a flame of any size, they seem to cowe and retreat back to SCP-XXXX. They instantly drop anyone they were dragging as they return to SCP-XXXX.

In the event that a subject is dragged into SCP-XXXX, anything on them, including clothes, equipment, and weaponry remain with them. Cameras are somehow able to maintain a connection from within SCP-XXXX, allowing for a live feed exploration inside SCP-XXXX.

The types of pocket worlds that subjects enter are referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 to 11, with SCP-XXXX-1 being the most common.
