Special Containment Procedures: SCP-X-A is to be kept in a glass case that has a minimum size of 25cm x 25cm x 25cm. No personnel are to make physical contact with SCP-X-A with the exception of D-Class personnel for testing and research purposes. Upon unauthorized personnel making physical contact with the object they are to be designated SCP-X-B and moved to a containment cell under 24 hour surveillance. Two (2) armed guards are to be stationed outside the cell. Should any entities of SCP-X-B become deceased they are to be incinerated depending on the effect of SCP-X-A.

Description: SCP-X-A is an anomalous deck of playing cards that grant any persons that make physical contact with the object a seemingly random1 supernatural or superhuman ability. The abilities range from telekinesis to the ability of flight and various others. SCP-X is currently being studied and researched by foundation staff to determine if it can be controlled and used to benefit the foundation.

SCP-X-A was discovered in ███ █████, Nevada, United States by Agent ████████ on 02/18/2020. MTF Pi-3 was mobilized to secure and contain SCP-X-A with the use of modified bomb removal robots. The object was then transported to Site 19 for containment and research.

Tests Logs:

Test 1 - 02/20/2020

Subject: Frank Smith
Procedure: Had subject shuffle SCP-X-A.
Results: After 4 minutes the subject began to telekinetically shuffle the deck.
Analysis: Subjects appear to be aware of their abilities.

Test 2-A - 02/22/2020

Subject: Mary Lenard
Procedure: Had subject play a standard game of solitaire using SCP-X-A
Results: After some time the subject grew wings. Subject was then escorted larger test chamber for more tests.
Analysis: The affects of SCP-X-A appear to be different for each person.

Test 2-B - 02/22/2020

Subject: Mary Lenard
Procedure: Instructed subject to fly to an elevated platform 10 meters across the chamber.
Results: The subject successfully reached the platform.
Analysis: Subjects appear to have full control of their abilities.
Additional Comments: Object may be able to be controlled and used by the Foundation for securing and containing anomalous objects. More tests are advised.

Addendums:

Addendum [SCP #]-1-A Update to Special Containment Procedures and object description: As of 02/30/2020 in the wake of incident 001 SCP-X-A's containment procedure no longer allows any personnel to make physical contact with the object. All tests involving SCP-X-A must be approved by the Site Director. Further more all tests to use SCP-X to benefit the Foundation are halted until such a time as the object's affects can be controlled.

Incident Report: Incident 001 occurred during test 3 on 02/28/2020. Dr. ██████ had instructed the subject to do a simple card trick using SCP-X-A. Upon completion of the trick the subject turned to face the camera in the corner of the room and exploded. Site staff took the remains of the subject to the incinerator for disposal. The test log is attached below.

Test 3 - 02/28/2020
Subject: Alek Crain
Procedure: Instructed subject to preform a simple card trick using SCP-X-A.
Results: Upon completion of the trick the subject turned to the camera in the room and exploded.
Analysis: The affects of SCP-X-A appear to include death by combustion.
Additional Comments: Change to containment procedure advised.
