Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5000 must be kept in a 200 square foot fully furnished and occupied standard office room at all times. Any and all anomalous entities must be kept within 100 ft. of SCP-5000, and at no point should direct line of sight be possible between SCP-5000 and any anomalous entities. SCP-5000 will and can appear anywhere on cite, but is less likely to when put in. If and when SCP-5000 is to ever be seen outside of its cell, any personnel who have not been in contact with an mind-altering anomalous entity within 72 hours may pick it up and return it to its cell.
If an anomalous entity, or an entity that has come in contact with a mind-altering anomalous entity within the last 72 hours has direct line of sight with, or is within 100 ft. of the Lovecraftian trashcan, the individual must be restricted and detained immediately before an occurrence of SCP-5000-3. If an occurrence of SCP-5000-3 happens within the defined perimeters of SCP-5000, the current area, and all surrounding areas, must be put on lockdown until the entity afflicted with SCP-5000-3 is neutralized. After the afflicted entity is neutralized, remove any and all bodies, replace any lost or broken office supplies, and place SCP-5000 into its cell. Any neutralized cases of SCP-5000-3 must either be disposed of or, if the entity is still alive, detained in heavy confinement until SCP-5000-3 wears off.
Description: SCP-5000 appears varying brand office trashcan, with varying dimensions per viewing. The reported brands include ██████████, ██████████, █████████ and ██████████. The trashcan is otherwise non-anomalous in design, with the exception of the lack of consistency between viewings.
The first sighting of SCP-5000 was in ██████████, IL, at the ██████████████ district. A sighting of SCP-1155 had occurred, and Mobile Task Force Pi-1 ("City Slickers") had been dispatched accordingly. Numerous individuals affected by SCP-1155 were in office building █████, and began to leave their stations to investigate SCP-1155, but due to the mind-altering affects of SCP-1155, their ability to see SCP-5000-2 gained the attention of Mobile Task Force Pi-1 ("City Slickers"). After [REDACTED] individuals were neutralized by SCP-5000-2, a secondary task force was called in to assist Mobile Task Force Pi-1 ("City Slickers") in containing SCP-5000.
SCP-5000 is not the real body, but is what the human mind can perceive. The main body of SCP-5000, SCP-5000-2, can only be perceived by an anomalous entity, or non-anomalous entity under the influence of a mind-altering anomalous effect, may be able to partially comprehend SCP-5000-2. If sight is maintained, or within the presence of SCP-5000-2, the entity viewing SCP-5000-2 will begin to experience a form of madness, similar to that of the [REDACTED]. Various survivor's descriptions of SCP-5000-2 include arched spines, twisted emaciated limbs, "too many teeth", long tails, and [REDACTED]
The madness associated with SCP-5000-2, SCP-5000-3, causes the afflicted entity to become incredibly violent, babble incoherently, and attempt to either flee or fight SCP-5000-2. This usually ends in the afflicted individuals death, but on rare occasions, the afflicted individual survives the encounter due to fleeing, personnel interference, or some form of distraction of presumable lack in concentration on SCP-5000-2’s behalf. When SCP-5000-2 is performing any form of violence, no visible difference in SCP-5000 will occur. Afflicted individuals are most commonly seen with numerous lacerations, large puncture wounds, concentrated kinetic force, and the possibility of suicide. It is advised that if personnel can neutralize an afflicted individual before a full case of SCP-5000-3 occurs, all courses of action to do so should be taken.
