Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Dissemination efforts of a "mislodged pipe" are currently ongoing.
MTF Theta-22 ("Butting In") is deployed to trace and determine the current location of both SCP-XXXX-A's and SCP-XXXX-B's posteriors.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous phenomenon on 06/12/1973 that simultaneously resulted in the manifestation of SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B. SCP-XXXX-A is unmarried 51-year-old "Roderick Greensland", a war veteran1 whose residence is situated in Tampa, FL. SCP-XXXX-B is 87-year-old retiree "Bryan Gosling", hospitalized in the New York Hospital after being diagnosed with chronic pneumonia in 1972.
The exact mechanism of how SCP-XXXX unfolded is unclear as both instances lived in solitude for most of their lives2, but what can be discerned is the end result: a complete detachment of each instance's posterior.
The point of separation is situated at mid-point of the human body in both instances, and muscle tissue exhibits a remarkable degree of elasticity and durability, allowing it to extend to an as-of-yet determined length3.
Discovery: Civilian sources claim to have witnessed a "fleshy, rope-like string" invading public areas and evading obstructions in its path, attracting Foundation attention. Agents were sent to both locations, finding SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B unresponsive to external stimuli despite the presence of life vitals. SCP-XXXX-A was discovered staring out of the window in his residence while SCP-XXXX-B was bedridden4.
No anomalous activity was detected or recorded involving both instances prior to the manifestation of SCP-XXXX. However, it was known that SCP-XXXX-A attended a Supreme Court proceeding three months before SCP-XXXX. On 03/28/1973, an episode by American investigative documentary show "Digging and Exposing" named "Why So Sudden?" was aired, featuring SCP-XXXX-A as the interviewee.
