The following is my ideas for an SCP. I’ll be frank, the cover is just here to not dump you straight into the Phase I tab, in case you enjoy the redacted stuff more.

Phase I: Starter Notes (Caution: Unredacted)

SCP Nickname: The Long Gun*

•Safe class
•Bronze 36-pounder naval* gun of plausible association with the Spanish Armada (SCP-XXXX-1) and corresponding carriage (SCP-XXXX-2) and a brass/leather telescope, attached to SCP-XXXX-2 via very fine chain (SCP-XXXX-3)
•Found by crab fishermen in the Bering Sea.
•Located by an agent on vacation.

-The agent then called this in, SCP-XXXX-1 was secured and the sailors interviewed and given an amnesiac
-An expedition was dispatched to the location of initial discovery, which located and recovered SCP-XXXX-2 and -3, similarly water damaged*
•When fired, SCP-XXXX-1 will emit for three (3) seconds a beam, purple in tint. After proceeding for ten (10) meters from the end of the barrel, a small portal no wider than the beam by ten (10) centimeters

Containment Procedures:

Immersion in a tank of saltwater. Water must be drained and replaced weekly. SCP-XXXX should be removed from the tank and allowed to repair tarnishing and corrosion damage every 4 months, or before any experiments involving the item. An attached chamber will be constructed adjacent to the storage chamber. This chamber must be 20 meters long, and provide such equipment that the object can be held in place and fired remotely and straight. An observation/control room must be attached to the firing chamber and storage chamber, see document XXXX-A for floorplans.*
