Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Area XX has been constructed with the specific conditions necessary to contain SCP-XXXX in humanoid and ursine form, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 respectively. Area XX is a room with fortified 15cm thick steel walls; though these walls will not prevent a containment breach indefinitely should Event XXXX-A occur, it will give personnel enough time to pacify SCP-XXXX-2. It is located at the centre of a large concrete lot 100m by 100m in size in order to deter animal life from the premises. It is equipped with [REDACTED] brand air filters that block any odour, scent or hormone emitted by the entity to escape Area XX in order to prevent any instances of SCP-XXXX-3 from being created. Should any instance of SCP-XXXX-3 be detected outside of Area XX, it is to be immediately terminated and incinerated, and the immediate area scouted for any more instances of SCP-XXXX-3. No living animal, non-anomalous or otherwise, may be introduced to either SCP-XXXX-1 or SCP-XXXX-2 under any circumstances.
SCP-XXXX-1 is to be provided with a meal consisting of any game meat commonly found in North America such as buffalo, elk, deer or boar once a day served with a side of either corn, beans, or squash. SCP-XXXX-1 is to receive no less than 90ml of 40% vodka in a cup five times per day with no more than six hours between servings. Requests by SCP-XXXX-1 for more alcohol are to be granted. Only Foundation personnel who's genetic sequencing has presented with at least 12.5% Aboriginal DNA are permitted to interact with SCP-XXXX-1, though such interactions are to be limited to providing it with food, water, alcohol, and conducting routine maintenance of Area XX. Personnel must undergo standard decontamination procedures upon exiting Area XX.
When addressing SCP-XXXX directly, it should only be referred to impersonally. Referring to it by its SCP designation or any other name will result in the entity entering into a rage state, potentially triggering Event XXXX-A. (See Addendum XXXX-1-A) Any testing of SCP-XXXX-1 must be authorized by the Site Director personally.
Due to the highly aggressive and volatile nature of SCP-XXXX-2, testing is not only strictly prohibited, but most likely not possible at all. Its cell must be guarded by at least three aboriginal foundation personnel armed with high-voltage projectile tasers; should SCP-XXXX-1 attempt to escape, act aggressively, or otherwise misbehave, personnel are to fire until SCP-XXXX-1 is pacified.
Should Event XXXX-A take place, MTF Sigma-76 “Bouncers” will initiate protocol “Hangover” in order to subdue SCP-XXXX-2.
Description: SCP-XXXX-1 appears to be a slender middle-aged male presumably of Aboriginal descent standing at 184cm. Superficially, the entity looks identical to an average non-anomalous human. Its skin is covered in tribal tattoos and scars, though the precise arrangement of its injuries suggest that they were a result of a scarification ritual. It is worth noting that upon transforming into SCP-XXXX-2, the tattoos and scarification remain on the entity’s equivalent body parts. Though it speaks no English, SCP-XXXX-1 can somewhat understand and respond to a few dialects of the Cree, Ojibway, and Navajo languages, however, it is normally observed muttering to itself in an as of yet unidentified language.
Its anomalous properties include the ability to secrete a hormone that causes any animal or animal-like organism to become permanently violent towards humans unless those humans are of aboriginal ancestry. This effect is permanent, and any organism affected by this hormone will thereafter be considered an instance of SCP-XXXX-3. This hormone has no apparent effect on humans, however, instances of SCP-XXXX-3 also begin to emit the hormone six hours after its introduction into the organism’s body. It also possesses higher strength, speed and stamina than a non-anomalous human would normally be able to achieve.
Despite its extensive tattooing and scarring, SCP-XXXX-1 is extremely resistant to damage and presents rapid-regeneration capabilities, and will heal from any injury regardless of magnitude. The healing process appears to be incredibly painful for the entity, and may involuntarily trigger Event XXXX-A regardless of how much alcohol is in its system. Use of force that inflicts excessive damage is to be avoided if at all possible. The projectile Tasers provided to security officers will incapacitate SCP-XXXX-1 quickly without triggering Event XXXX-A.
Its second unique anomalous effect is its ability to transform into SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 is a large mammalian creature that is the result of Event XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-1 cannot begin Event XXXX-A while there is alcohol in its system; this property has made containment far simpler, as the entity appears to be an alcoholic. During Event XXXX-A, SCP-XXXX-1 rapidly expands in size, changes shape and grows fur until it becomes SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 appears similar to a large, muscular polar bear about the same size of an African Elephant with the addition of a thick, black mane. It maintains all of the anomalous properties that it has in its humanoid form, and additionally possesses an astonishing level of stamina and strength. As of yet, the foundation has not discovered a limit to it's stamina or strength, and are not conducting tests to discover it due to the obvious risk involved. It also has four retractable, keratin-based nails on each paw, which aid it in both breaking containment and killing every non-aboriginal human that it encounters.
It has been observed that SCP-XXXX is able to detect Aboriginal heritage if it is present in at least 12.5% of their DNA. Furthermore, it has expressed during an interview on 14/12/20██ that it is either unwilling or completely incapable of harming people that it deems are of Aboriginal descent. (See Addendum XXXX-1-B) It is unclear which statement is more accurate due to the difficulties presented in translating its speech. Despite the communication barriers and its apparent hatred of The Foundation, SCP-XXXX-1 has displayed a willingness to participate in interviews.
SCP-XXXX is uncannily clever, having escaped containment a total of twelve (12) times in its humanoid form alone since its initial containment on DD/MM/YYYY. This occurs despite its inebriated state and respective increases in security protocols. Collectively, these containment breaches have resulted in 82 human casualties, including 13 Foundation personnel. As of the last containment breach on ██/██/████, 1325 instances of SCP-XXXX-3 have been terminated, with ████estimated instances that The Foundation has not yet located. MTF Sigma-76 is responsible for tracking and exterminating all affected organisms.
Addendum XXXX-1-A
Preface: The Foundation first discovered SCP-XXXX-1 while investigating reports of a mass outbreak of a rabies-like disease that infected every animal in and around the towns of [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] in the Hudson Bay area of Canada. It was captured inside of a [REDACTED] chain restaurant acting as a refuge for civilians hiding from instances of SCP-XXXX-3. It had entered the restaurant with four instances of SCP-XXXX-3 (two mountain lions, an eagle and a golden retriever) and killed seven civilians in the restaurant alone before being subdued. All survivors were promptly administered a Class A amnestic, and all instances of SCP-XXXX-3 were terminated. The following is a transcript of the first interview between Dr Shawcross (Deceased) and SCP-XXXX-1 at Site XX, assisted in translation by Security Officer L. Mariette, who speaks Cree. Due to SCP-XXXX-1’s difficulty in speaking modern aboriginal languages, some dialogue is speculative or incomplete. All speculative translations have been indicated in italics. Foundation research personnel are currently working to discern the dialogue in question and establish a more reliable means of communication.
BEGIN LOG:
Dr Shawcross: Hello, my name is Dr Shawcross, this is Officer Mariette. He will be translating for me today. Can you understand me well enough now?
SCP-XXXX-1: Doctor? I have learned this word. I have met others. You (Plural) say you are medicine men but bring only (death, injury, slaughter). You (Plural) are [UNTRANSLATED-UNDEFINED]. I am the last doctor, the last shaman.
Dr Shawcross: Right. Then let’s begin. How do you control all of those animals?
SCP-XXXX-1: I do not control. I (inform, teach, reveal). They do not have to follow.
Dr. Shawcross: Fine. Then how do you… teach… them.
SCP-XXXX-1: I [UNTRANSLATED-UNDEFINED] with them. We (Exclusive) enter each other.
Dr. Shawcross: My translator is having trouble understanding what you mean by that. Can you use any other words to describe what it is you do?SCP-XXXX-1: What is “describe”?
• (Note that entity vocalized “describe” in English)
Dr. Shawcross: Never mind. We’ll come back to that. Are you human?
SCP-XXXX-1: You (Plural) have proven that we (Exclusive) are more human than any of you. (Plural)
• (Note that while saying “we”, entity gestured at Officer Mariette as well as himself)
Officer Mariette: What do I have to do with this?
SCP-XXXX-1: Family.
• (Note that Officer Mariette did not translate the three lines of dialogue above into English until after audio was recovered)
Dr. Shawcross to Officer Mariette: Sure… Officer, I have to ask you to refrain from communicating with XXXX beyond translation.
SCP-XXXX-1: That is NOT my name. You (Plural) took my name years ago. You (stole, took, destroyed) my name. You (Singular) will not name me, wendigo.
Dr. Shawcross: wha- What’s happening to you? SECU-
• (Note that this was the first recorded occurrence of Event XXXX-A by The Foundation. SCP-XXXX-2 destroyed Site-XX during his transformation and caused a mass containment breach, subsequently killing all foundation staff at the site except for Officer Mariette, who was not injured. Researchers are still uncertain as to how SCP-XXXX-1 understood what Dr Shawcross said. More interviews are required. Possible connection between SCP-XXXX and SCP-323)
Addendum XXXX-1-B
Preface: SCP-XXXX-1 was once again apprehended after receiving reports that six RCMP officers were murdered by a drunk, naked Native American man that matched the entity’s description. The entity was quickly and relatively easily captured by MTF Sigma-76 outside of [REDACTED] bar in Ottawa on 14/12/20██. Due to the highly urbanized setting, only ## instances of SCP-XXXX-3 were found and subsequently terminated. SCP-XXXX-1 was taken to Area XX. The following is an interview between Dr Strummer, assisted in translation by Foundation translator Link Mariette, who speaks Cree. Mariette has passed extensive psychological evaluations by Foundation psychiatrists who concluded that he was fit to resume his employment. Due to SCP-XXXX-1’s difficulty in speaking modern aboriginal languages, some dialogue is speculative or incomplete. All speculative translations have been indicated in italics. Foundation research personnel are currently working to discern the dialogue in question and establish a more reliable means of communication.
BEGIN LOG:
Dr Strummer: Good Morning. My name is Dr Strummer, beside me I have Mr Mariette. He will be trans-
Mariette to Dr Strummer: We’ve met.
SCP-XXXX-1: Hello, family.
Dr. Strummer: As I was saying- Mr Mariette will be translating for us. Why did you destroy Site XX?
SCP-XXXX-1: The white man named me.
• (Note that SCP-XXXX-1 vocalized “white man” in English)
Dr. Strummer: What white man do you mean?
SCP-XXXX-1: Shawcross
• (Note that SCP-XXXX-1 spat on the floor upon saying this)
Dr. Strummer: Dr Shawcross was an African American; I’m going to need you to explain to me what exactly you mean.
SCP-XXXX-1: What is “African”? Not Family. No difference. White man.
• (Note that SCP vocalized “African” and “White man” in English)
Dr. Strummer: ….Alright then…. So what IS your name?
SCP-XXXX-2: I do not know.
Dr. Strummer: Alright, Fine. Why are you drunk?
SCP-XXXX-1: The (poison, alcohol) warms my heart and clears my mind, and brings [UNTRANSLATED-UNDEFINED]. It locks away my beast. I (won’t, can’t) stop.
Dr. Strummer: Are you saying that alcohol keeps you from transforming?
SCP-XXXX-1: Do you (singular) have any?
Dr. Strummer: I’ll see what I can do. How come you let Mr Mariette live on your last… encounter?
SCP-XXXX-1: He is family. I (won’t, can’t) harm him.
At this point, SCP-XXXX-1 falls unconscious, thereby concluding the interview
Interviewer’s Note
SCP-XXXX seems to have some sort of connection to Mr Mariette. This is most likely due to Mr Mariette’s Native American heritage, however, I’m requesting that he be kept under surveillance and far away from SCP-XXXX until we can get some D-Class requisitioned to test that theory out. If what I got out of it is true, then we can just keep this guy drunk and fed and it’ll pretty much just contain itself. Nonetheless, I’ve seen the damage that SCP-XXXX-2 did to Site XX when it got riled up, and that was only because Dr Shawcross called it by its designated number; there was really no stopping it from escaping containment then. We don’t know if there is anything else can set off Event XXXX-A, or if there is anything else SCP-XXXX is capable of. I recommend that for the time being, we maintain its Keter classification, regardless of today’s discoveries. Furthermore, start giving it alcohol ASAP and don’t stop; I don’t think anyone wants to see this guy hungover.
