Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is uncontainable due to its nature. If SCP-XXXX-B and its host planet (SCP-XXXX-A) are discovered and information is released to the public, a disinformation campaign is to commence and all information outside of the Foundation is to be erased. Anyone believed to be affected by SCP-XXXX-B's cognitohazard is to be kept in temporary containment until the final stage of the cognitohazard is reached. Sites housing SCP-XXXX-B affected subjects must always have backup generators ready for the final stage of SCP-XXXX-B's cognitohazard.

Foundation personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX are to work on a method of occlusion of SCP-XXXX from observatories and on a way to inoculate subjects that are prone to its effects.

Description: SCP-XXXX consists of two astronomical objects, referred to as SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B. They are located within the [REDACTED] Galaxy, a known Dwarf Galaxy within the Local Group. They are at the coordinates [DATA EXPUNGED, LEVEL 4/XXXX CLEARANCE REQUIRED]. Its position changed, see Addendum XXXX-1 for more information.

SCP-XXXX-A is the host planet to SCP-XXXX-B. SCP-XXXX-A is colloquially referred to as "València" by those who have had no prior knowledge of it. Aside from being a weak cognitohazard, the planet also emits its own light1, despite the fact that analyses of it imply it is a terrestrial planet. It appears to be a perfect sphere.

SCP-XXXX-B is the natural satellite of SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-B is ███,███ kilometers away from SCP-XXXX-A and has no notable surface features. Despite how much light SCP-XXXX-A emits, SCP-XXXX-B's surface temperature is unaffected.

SCP-XXXX-B emits a cognitohazardous effect if viewed by anyone who has a history of frequent migraines. While the effect varies from person to person, most subjects see a "Paradise2" on SCP-XXXX-B. Afterwards, exposed subjects are no longer prone to headaches of any kind. Subjects will also gain symptoms similar to those attributed to ADHD-PI3. However, unlike in those suffering with ADHD-PI, some behaviors are associated with SCP-XXXX.

These behaviors include, but are not limited to:

  • Staring in the direction of SCP-XXXX, regardless of position relative to the subject
  • Changing the subject of a conversation to involve SCP-XXXX
  • Constant daydreaming about the perceived "Paradise" on SCP-XXXX-B

These behaviors get progressively more severe until the subject no longer acknowledges stimuli, and only stares in SCP-XXXX's direction. Approximately 1-3 days after reaching this stage, [DATA EXPUNGED] resulting in blackouts within a kilometer radius of the last location of the subject.

Addendum XXXX-1: A routine check on SCP-XXXX's position in its host galaxy revealed that it had disappeared completely from its solar system within the interior. It was later rediscovered on the outskirts.
