Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in purpose-build Area-XXX. Area-XXX is an approximately 6km by 8km tract of hilly pastoral land dotted with shrubs and squat trees located [REDACTED] kilometers south of [REDACTED], Jordan. Chain-link and barbed wire fencing, along with warning signs posted in Arabic, French, and English, restrict access to Area-XXX by the general public. At the approximate center of Area-XXX is an approximately 1km by 1km grotto obscured by jagged cliffs where SCP-XXXX is contained. Natural light penetrates to even the furthest depths of the grotto through a patchwork of natural skylights in the cliff structure. The one accessible face of the grotto is secured by a concrete wall 4 meters in height and 500 centimeters thick. The perimeter of this wall is broken up by guard towers, each manned at all times by at least two Foundation security personnel armed with automatic rifles and infrared scopes. Any trespasser apprehended in Area-XXX is to be given a Class-B amnesic and released outside of the perimeter.

Description: SCP-XXXX is at preliminary inspection a lush grove of trees and vegetation uncharacteristic to Jordan's [REDACTED] region, thriving in a picturesque grotto naturally obscured by surrounding hills and cliffs. SCP-XXXX is currently believed to be the origin of the biblical Eden story.

Numerous anomalous species make SCP-XXXX their home. These native species are suspicious of humans and keep their distance, but have not been observed to be hostile unless provoked. None of the native species have been observed to willingly leave SCP-XXXX, and testing indicates they are unable to survive outside of SCP-XXXX. Authorized personnel may refer to Testing Log A for further information.

Breathing the air within SCP-XXXX has a hallucinogenic effect of varying intensity that persists in exposed individuals from days to years. Further testing is needed to determine whether effects scale with dosage/exposure or if the hallucinogenic effects are based more on the individual. The trees and bushes of SCP-XXXX are rich with a variety of anomalous fruits that testing reveals to produce severe and anomalous effects when consumed by subjects.
