Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Subject is to be housed in a room with no permanent accessories. If the subject requests an object that is not unreasonable, the object should be given. Once a week has passed, the subject’s desire for the object will be reviewed and if the subject no longer desires it, the object should be removed. Otherwise, the object shall remain in the room for an additional week, until a maximum time limit of one (1) month is reached. Personnel are not permitted to interact socially with the subject for more than 3 hours. Additionally, personnel are forbidden from pursuing a romantic or sexual relationship with the subject (see Addendum 03 and Incident 03-A). Subject is allowed to enter public areas within the facility as long as said area has at least one (1) surveillance camera.
Description: Subject’s base form is unknown. Subject does not appear to need sustenance of any kind, though will often eat or drink when accompanied by someone or something else doing the same.
When any creature enters the subject’s room, it appears as a creature of the same species with varying physical features (for example, if a male golden retriever of medium size were to view the subject, it could present itself as a smaller, female golden retriever or an older male retriever) that are aesthetically pleasing to the viewer (see Addendum 01) When viewed by personnel through security cameras or a video camera, the same effect is observed. However, if a video of the subject interacting with anyone or anything is played back, or a photo of the subject alongside one or more other creatures is observed, the subject will not be visible.
When D-Class and above personnel interact socially with the subject, the subject will tell them details about itself quite freely. However, when talking to another person that has conversed with the subject, very little (if any) details will match up (see Addendum 02). The more each person “knows” about the subject, the higher the chance they have to start an argument about whose interpretation of the subject is correct.

Addendum 01:

01-A:
Class D personnel 1205 (Eurasian, female, small build) was used for this test. When D-1205 met the subject, they immediately seemed to form a friendship. D-1205 spent a total of 1 hour and 26 minutes in the subject’s company. Upon leaving the room, she was questioned on the subject’s apparent physical features and personality traits. A list of said features is provided below:

  • Tall, modestly muscled
  • Dark-skinned (said to be “the colour of [D-1205’s] favourite coffee)
  • Dark spiky hair, hazel eyes
  • Male
  • Easygoing, friendly, cheerful
  • Enjoys musical theatre, singing (has a pleasant sounding singing voice, according to D-1205)

01-B:
Class D personnel 359 (broad, tall, Caucasian, male) was used for this test. When D-359 met the subject, initial feelings of resentment were observed. However, this seemed to fade after the 16th minute of their interaction. D-359 interacted with the subject for a total of 1 hour and 28 minutes. Upon leaving the room, he was questioned on the subject’s personality traits and apparent physical features. A list of said features is below:

  • Medium build, slightly muscled
  • Similar skin tone to D-359
  • Smooth blond hair
  • Enjoys volleyball, tennis, surfing
  • Slightly shy and/or bashful, friendly

When questioned on the subject’s apparent gender, D-359 seemed uncomfortable with revealing this information. However, when reassured that this information would be held confidential (to a Level 0 clearance level), D-359 revealed that the subject appeared male.
Addendum 02:
In the followup to tests 01-A and 01-B, D-359 and D-1205 were made to interact with each other and discuss the subject. When comparing their very different perceptions of the subject, D-1205 became upset at the “misinformation” that she was hearing. D-359 became somewhat aggravated and tired of the conversation when seeing D-1205 was close to tears.
Addendum 03:
When the subject was first brought to the Foundation facilities, it was less monitored. It formed a strong friendship with a Class-D personnel. This individual later asked the subject if it would like to be in a sexual/romantic relationship with them, and the subject accepted. When the individual was questioned in regard to its happier nature, they told the staff member it was because of the subject. (see Incident 03-A)

Incident 03-A:
The individual came across two other Class-D personnel talking negatively about the subject inside the canteen. Enraged, the individual stormed over to the others and demanded they repeat their previous statements. When they obliged, the individual became very defensive of the subject and started screaming at them, correcting their supposed misinformed perspective on the subject. When the other personnel became irritated and contradicted them, they flew into a rage and, snatching a steak knife off the nearest table, attacked one of the “misinformed” persons. The attacked individual spent several days in the infirmary in critical condition, however they improved steadily over the following weeks and was given an amnestic when they were ready to return to work. The attacker was terminated. When told of their significant other’s demise, the subject did not appear to react.
