Item #: SCP-7503
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-7503 is to be kept in a 20x20x20 centimeter lockable container, consisting of a layer of lead placed in-between two layers of molybdenum, with an interior lining of thorium, and a small suction device at the bottom. As named by its creators, ████ █████, and Dr. Joshua Terzi (deceased) the container is called a "█████-Terzi Device For the Containment and Collection of SCP-7503" (Abbreviated as PTD, sometimes called "The Box" by personnel). A passcode, changed diurnally, is to be given to all personnel with their breakfast meal, to be kept on their person until breakfast the next day. In the event of a containment breach, personnel must meet at a defined location, and recite their passcode. The Head Of Security, over PSA, will announce who is to recite their passcode, moving in alphabetical order. Anyone who gets their passcode wrong is to be shot on the spot by security personnel.
<REVISION 1969>
SCP-7503 is not to be accessed unless at least four level 2 Security Personnel are supervising, or two level 3 Security Personnel are supervising.
<REVISION 2014>
SCP-7503 must be kept, at all times, in its container. The container should be inspected for damage on a weekly basis. In the event of the anomaly escaping containment, full site lockdown is to be initiated, with security personnel stationed at all checkpoints and security stations. Research personnel/visitors are to lock themselves in the nearest room with a sealable door, and no other points of entry that cannot be sealed. Ideally, two or more personnel will stay together, to minimize the risk of SCP-7503 attacking. When SCP-7503 is located, it should be fired upon immediately, killing the replica body, forcing the anomaly to turn back into its natural form. There will be a short period of time where the anomaly will be stunned and unable to move, thus it can be scooped up in the PTD. The container is also equipped a small camera inside.
<REVISION 2017>
SCP-7503 is to be kept in the PTD, inside of an 6x6x4 meter airtight room, with any living organisms at least 3 meters away from the outer wall, except during testing procedures and maintenance. No fewer than two personnel may enter the room at one time, and a minimum of five personnel are required to be inside the room when the PTD needs to be opened. All personnel inside the room must be wearing pressurized hazardous material protection suits. Any maps or other site navigation tools are to be kept 12 meters away from the outer wall at all times, due to the fact that SCP-7503 could use them to find a rarely used route to an exit, or bypass checkpoints.
<REVISION 2019>
In the event of SCP-7503's emotional state becoming anger or despair, all personnel are to vacate the containment room and wait until the anomaly calms down. SCP-7503 is never to be removed from its container. The PTD has been enlarged to become the whole containment room. The anomaly is now stored in a transparent plastic storage bin, inside the PTD. A vacuum is to remain established at all times inside the PTD.
Description:
SCP-7503 is a sentient and extremely intelligent anomaly, that is capable of displaying emotion. The anomaly is constantly emitting gamma radiation. It appears in its natural form as a slimy substance of variable color, that SCP-7503 can manipulate at will, which can also change depending on its emotional state. with a similar consistency to honey. It is also It can take the form of any living organism, causing it to fall into a coma for anywhere from five minutes to five years, or even die, depending on how emotionally distressed the anomaly is. SCP-7503 will approach behind the victim, human or animal, and at remarkable speed (approximately 6,539 meters per second, yet strangely, does not produce any audible sonic boom, or disturbance in air currents) pass through the skin, into the foramen magnum, into the brain cavity, where it will massively alter its volume and density so it goes unnoticed and does not alter the victim's state of health. After about 37 seconds, the victim will suddenly faint. The anomaly will then emerge from the foramen magnum in its natural form. It will than take the form of its victim, matching it exactly. It will then take the victims clothes, jewelry, and other accessories until it is a perfect replica of the victim before the attack. The victim or victim's body will be hidden out of sight, such as in an air duct, rarely used storage container, such as a large cupboard or chest, or a closable storage area of a vehicle. SCP-7503 can formulate speech in any language, albeit rather poorly. When in human form, it can mimic human speech perfectly. If there are at least 5 personnel nearby and watching in person, SCP-7503 can be touched using a gloved hand, to which it will attempt to penetrate the glove, to no avail.
Incidents
On ██/██/2014, SCP-7503 escaped its container due to damage, taking the form of a researcher and simply walking out of the room. Note this was before Revision 2014. It was only when the scientist woke fifteen minutes later when a search and containment breach notice was initiated. Prior to this, Revision 2014 was not established. The escape attempt was eventually stopped at Gate █. SCP-7503 continually, sometimes violently, expresses its desire to return to its home universe.
First Contact
SCP-7503 was first discovered in 1946, near Ground Zero of the Trinity Test. Anomalous activity was detected in the area, but some scientists said it was residual radiation from the the nuclear device, as the sensors were not yet calibrated to filter out radiation from a nuclear detonation. To be sure, the newly formed MTF Lambda 16 "Wave Riders" were deployed to investigate, armed with M1 Garand Rifles and Browning Automatic Rifles. After searching for 2 hours, the group fanned out to cover more ground. When nothing was found, the order was given to regroup at coordinates ██°██'██.█"N █°██'██.█"E, and say a previously chosen password, to prove that they were indeed authorized personnel. Anyone who got the password wrong was to be terminated on the spot. Only one operative stated the incorrect password and was fired upon. To the utter shock of the others, the dead body melted into a white slime tainted with blood. A quick-thinking operative emptied his canteen and placed SCP-7503 inside, while the others went to investigate shouts for help, about half a mile away, and found the missing operative sitting naked on a small boulder. A long, flat strip of desert was marked with a signal grenade for a Douglas C-47 Skytrain aircraft to land and take off, recovering MTF Lambda 16. The attacked member sustained no injuries besides a light concussion from falling.
As stated in Edward Thompson's, the commander of MTF Lambda 16 at the time, when asked about the incident, it played out like this: "We said the password. He got it wrong. We shot him 7 times, he dropped to the desert floor. Blood oozed out of his corpse. Then he just melted, like an ice cube on the front porch. He turned into a white goo, marbled with blood. We all assumed that's the thing we wanted, so Charlie scooped it up in his canteen. A few moments later we heard Fergus screaming for help, about half a mile away. At that point I figured that this thing could perfectly match anybody, save for memories and mental disorders. I knew that Fergus himself could not be that thing. He discussed the password with us. George, Albert, and I went to investigate, and found him disoriented and sitting bear naked on a stone. We called in air recovery and on the plane he said that he was looking inside of a unnaturally square hole when he just passed out, and woke up naked in the sticks. He said he tried to get up, but was too dizzy, [he] said he could just barely see us, and he started shouting for assistance. When we showed the anomaly to some scientist we were told to talk to, he just took it away with some more scientists and a couple of guards and sent us away. Never heard about the thing again, nor has anyone brought it up to me, until now." From an interview of Edward Thomson, Performed by Dr. Wallace T. Gumpfoot, 1957.
