Special Containment Procedures: SCP XXXX is to be kept in an Anomalous Vehicle Containment Bay. There are to be no fewer than three (3) armed guards, who are fluent in German, posted directly outside the entrance to SCP-XXXX’s containment area. At least two (2) guards, also fluent in German, are to be stationed on the inside of the area whenever any personnel are interacting with SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX is to have the muzzles for each of its armaments covered to prevent an unsupervised discharge. SCP-XXXX is to be hoisted up 1 (1) meter off the ground via 8 chains attached to various points around the body. No personnel below Level 2 are permitted to give commands to SCP-XXXX during testing. (see Test Log XXXX-3-3b)

Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf.H. SCP_XXXX measures 7.02 m x 2.88 m x 2.68 m and is armed with a 7.5 cm Kw.K 40 L/48 gun. A 7.92 mm MG34 machine-gun is mounted Co-Axially next to the main cannon, and another MG34 is mounted in a ball-mount on the front of the hull. SCP-XXXX weights 25 tonnes and is capable of reaching speeds of 3 km/h, with a max range of ██.

SCP-XXXX’s interior is filled with what appears human tissue, muscle, and bone. Testing and observation have shown that SCP-XXXX is alive and capable of basic cognitive functions; However, it appears it has no higher brain function. While the hatches of SCP-XXXX are able to be opened, there is little to no space for a crew to command the vehicle. SCP-XXXX is able to move on its own, despite the lack of gas or any other sort of fuel needs.

SCP-XXXX was recovered on █/█194█ by Allied troops in ██████, Germany. It was brought back to the United States where Foundation Personnel took custody over SCP-XXXX and administered Class A amnestics to the crew of the ship and all soldiers involved. SCP-XXXX was then moved to site ██ where it resides currently.

Addendum
On █/█/19██, the Foundation received reports of [DATA EXPUNGED] in ████████, Germany. Mobile task force Epsilon-6 ("Village Idiots") was dispatched to investigate. Upon arriving, the MTF discovered [DATA EXPUNGED]. In the center of the village was a middle age adult male atop a tank resembling SCP-XXXX. The MTF attempted to instruct the man to surrender, however, he proceeded to instruct the tank to attack the task force. After a quick engagement, Epsilon-6's sharpshooter ████ ████████, was able to terminate the male, while the rest of the MTF was able to subdue the (now identified) Panzer IV. Along with the anomalous vehicle, Epsilon-6 retrieved a large, brown leather covered book. The contents of the book seemed to all be related to SCP-XXXX. Both items were returned to site ██ where SCP-XXXX was being held. Foundation personnel began testing with the new items and information. (See Test Log XXXX-2).

Note: Due to the similarities between SCP-XXXX and SCP-516 similar testing conditions have been used.

All tests were carried out on the Site ██ firing range. All commands given to SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 have been translated from German to English for the purpose of documentation.

Notes:

SCP-XXXX seems to have potential to be reclassified to thaumiel. Further testing is required.

Note:

SCP-XXXX and (then classified) SCP-XXXX-2, while of almost exact same physical layout, seem to have almost different personalities. However, there is still no sign of higher brain function.

This version of SCP-XXXX seems to not need the same amount of training or specifics to its commands as SCP-XXXX-1. Whether this is due to some change in its brain functions or the brains themselves, is unknown.

Target: Cardboard cutout of human placed behind concrete wall.
Order: "do a recon, then fire at will"
Result:SCP-XXXX-2 begins to move forward towards the wall. SCP-XXXX-2 moves in a searching pattern till it moves past the wall. Upon discovering the cardboard target, SCP-XXXX-2 sharply turns and fires its hull machine gun for [REDACTED] seconds, completely shredding the target.

Testing Log XXXX-02e

Result: SCP-XXXX-2's periscope rotates 360 degrees twice in rapid succession, then quickly reverses backwards behind the testing structure.

D-62169 then attempts to escape while SCP-XXXX-2 is behind the structure. Without instructions, SCP-XXXX-2 pulls back out, and fires one HEAT shell, obliterating D-62169 before local security could apprehend him.

I find it interesting how SCP-XXXX-2 terminated D-62169 without orders to do so. Could the different personalities be for different roles in war time?

For the following testing, SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 have both been brought to the site ██ firing range together. the following tests are to test the fighting capabilities of both variations of SCP-XXXX.

Note: For this test, D-20420 has been trained in usage of commands to control SCP-XXXX-1.

Testing Log XXXX-03a
Subject: SCP-XXXX-1 (with D-20420 positioned standing directly behind the turret)
Target: Cardboard cutout of human attached to remote control vehicle.
Result: D-20420 orders SCP-XXXX-1 forward, and to follow the target. SCP-XXXX-1 complies, advancing towards the target. D-20420 then orders SCP-XXXX-1 to use its hull machine gun to fire at the target while continuing to pursue it. SCP-XXXX-1 is able to keep its fire directed at the target, however it is inaccurate due to both it and the target moving. D-20420 then orders SCP-XXXX-1 to stop and aim its main gun at the target. As per D-20420's commands, SCP-XXXX-1 tracks the target, then fires, destroying the target.
SCP-XXXX-1 has proven itself in its trials, and seems to have been combat ready at the time of its retrieval. -DR.██████

Note: For this test, D-687687 has been trained in usage of commands to control SCP-XXXX-2.

Testing Log XXXX-03b
Subject: SCP-XXXX-2 (with D-678678 positioned standing directly behind the turret)
Target: Cardboard cutout of human attached to remote control vehicle.
Result: D-678678 orders SCP-XXXX-2 to attack the target. SCP-XXXX-2 begins to move forward on its own, tracking the target with its turret. D-678678 orders SCP-XXXX-2 to stop and fire at the target, however, SCP-XXXX-2 begins to accelerate towards the target, firing both its machine guns. D-678678 began to yell at SCP-XXXX-2 to "stop you ██████ ██████ machine!" to which SCP-XXXX-2 stopped, sliding forward, throwing D-678678 over its turret onto the ground. As D-678678 stood up, SCP-XXXX-2 fired its hull machine gun into his chest , killing him instantly. SCP-XXXX-2 then proceeded to turn around and fire all ordinance at the testing staff, causing ██ casualties. As local security attempted to contain SCP-XXXX-2, D-20420 broke away and climbed aboard SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 fired one armor piercing round at SCP-XXXX-2, penetrating its turret drive, keeping it locked in place. Local security was able to subdue SCP-XXXX-2.

Notes: A formal request to change SCP-XXXX-1's classification from Safe to Thaumiel has been submitted.
A formal request for termination testing of SCP-XXXX-2 has been subbmitted.
D-20420 has been commended for his actions.
