SCP-5068
Item Number: SCP-5068
Object Class: Safe
**Special Containment Procedures: **
SCP-5068 is to be contained in a standard anomalous object containment cell in section 6-B of sub-level 2 of site 16 under no particular supervision, SCP-5068-1 does not require sustenance of any kind besides perhaps Lipton earl grey tea bags but this is unclear. SCP-5068 is recommended to be interacted with by foundation personnel for recreational purposes.
Description:
SCP-5068is a large metal bucket composed of a pewter body and stainless steel handle with uniform weathering throughout, has a carrying capacity of 12 litres and a weight of 0.42 kilograms. Upon being held by the handle SCP-5068will instantly transport the subject holding the bucket into a sort of pocket dimension having no definitive walls or ceiling but with a dark atmosphere. Inside this pocket dimension, subjects will be greeted by a vaguely humanoid anomaly described to be at least 213 cm (7ft) to 275cm (9ft) in height, having an extremely thin build with slightly purple, metallic skin. This anomaly will henceforth be known as SCP- 5068-1.
SCP-5068-1 Displays a large monocle made of a pearlescent material encased in a brass housing in place of eyes on the front of its face. Meeting SCP-5068 in the pocket dimension subject will find themselves standing inside SCP-5068 or an instance of SCP-5068, inside which subjects describe having no ability to step out of or change position inside allowing only moving of the upper body.
While in the pocket dimension, subjects are standing opposite to SCP-5068-1 across a medium square table made of mahogany. SCP-5068-1 is seen in a sitting position while appearing to not be sitting on anything.
SCP-5068-1 exhibits docile behavior and greets subjects with a handshake. After the handshake has finished a small already set up chess board made of slate stone will materialize in the center of the table, white chess pieces will always materialize on the side of SCP-5068-1, and the black pieces on the side of the subject. It appears that SCP-5068-1 is incapable of or does not like verbal communication.
SCP-5068-1 will then commence the game of chess by making the first move, SCP-5068-1 has been described to have no remarkable skill in the game of chess and is rather mediocre, several C and D class personnel have beaten SCP-5068-1 in a game even having having no prior experience playing, describing having a “feeling” on what the next move should be.
Upon succeeding in beating SCP-5068-1 in a game of chess, SCP-5068-1 will present the subject with a bag of Lipton earl grey tea materializing within it’s closed fist, after which SCP-5068-1 will shake the subjects hand once more transporting the subject back to their original dimension. The tea bags received from SCP-5068-1 exhibit no anomalous properties but are described to taste better than original Lipton earl grey tea from our dimension, though upon further research this has been declared to be due to the placebo effect.
Upon losing a game of chess to SCP-5068-1, SCP-5068-1 will clap frantically in excitement and hold its left hand open across the table seeming to request a prize, subject will then find themselves anomalously moving their right hand to drop a bag of identical Lipton earl grey tea into the hand of SCP-5068-1. SCP-5068-1 will then gesture to high-five the subject, after which the subject will return to their original dimension.
Subjects having lost to SCP-5068-1 express extreme distress and will insist on returning to the SCP-5068 to challenge SCP-5068-1 to a rematch. Subjects that were denied the chance to return to SCP-5068 do not cease signs of distress until the request is fulfilled, repeating this cycle until the subject wins.
SCP-5068 and SCP-5068-1 both exhibit anomalous properties in respect to taking damage.
SCP-5068 appears to be a regular metal bucket upon closer inspection and takes physical damage as such although any and all physical damage dealt to SCP-5068 will revert back to its previously damaged form when it is not being observed.
SCP-5068-1 seems to inadvertently reflect any and all damage taken onto the body of the subject currently in the pocket dimension. It seems SCP-5068-1 is aware of the ability and will express extreme stress in the presence of a weapon pleading the subject not to attempt to inflict damage upon it (see test 1-B and 2-A). If a subject dies in SCP-5068’s pocket dimension they will immediately return to the original dimension.
Addendum:
It is not clear what would happen if SCP-5068-1 were to inflict damage upon itself as it refuses to pick up weapons of any kind and only ever makes contact with the subjects, chess pieces and tea bags inside the pocket dimension and has not been observed to ever leave the pocket dimension. At this time, testing has only proven capable of transporting one subject into SCP-5068’s pocket dimension at a time.
