Special Containment Procedures: Under no circumstance can any D-Class or Staff that doesn’t believe SCP-XXXX make any physical or eye contact with SCP-XXXX. Failure to follow these protocols will result in [DATA EXPUNGED]. Any survivors of the incident must be terminated immediately.
SCP-XXXX must be stored inside of a large and closed container when not being experimented on. SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a minimum of a 15 m x 15 m room constructed of wood at all times. The object must be at least 5 m away from SCP-XXXX-1 if no one that believes XXXX is I’m the room. All D-Class personnel and Staff observing or coming into contact with SCP-XXXX are to be informed of its anomalous properties and must score above ninety-five (95) on E-SCP-XXXX-A.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a hand puppet resembling a Pan troglodyte, more commonly known as a chimpanzee, wearing a red and white dress used commonly for children’s dolls. SCP-XXXX has the appendages of a chimpanzee, along with black oculi made of hard plastic. SCP-XXXX‘s wool fur was described by subjects as “soft and cuddly”, shortly before [REDACTED], resulting in no further experiments for months.
SCP-XXXX was discovered in ███████, Illinois, in the █'█████ residence after neighbors alerted local law enforcement to unusual disturbances in the home. Agent J███’s recovery squad was dispatched after two (2) local police [REDACTED]. SCP Personnel infiltrated the house following standard protocol. The room of █████ █'█████ (deceased) is where SCP-XXXX was found along with SCP-XXXX-1, [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1 were both recovered and sent to Site-██ for immediate testing. Agent J███‘s squad suffered one casualty during the securing process (See Interview Log 1). The █'█████ family and the police officers remains were removed from the home without raising suspicion. Two (2) Level 3 SCP Personnel were sent to the former █'█████ residence and are observing the house and the neighbors for research purposes.
Objects with standard properties recovered along with SCP-XXXX:
- One (1) plexiglass container that SCP-XXXX was secured in
- Nine (9) drawings on standard notebook paper depicting images of SCP-XXXX
- Three (3) standard notebook pages full of english words praising SCP-XXXX. It should be noted that all papers recognize the anomaly as “Melvin”
- Two (2) small, used brown candles. Testing has revealed that the candle’s material is █████ █'█████‘s own cerumen
Research of SCP-XXXX shows that anomalous responses are only triggered when a human observers or interacts with it. All successful experiment attempts require the usage of SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is a torn notebook filled mostly with characters for a supposed language we have been unable to decipher. However, pages written in the English languages do exist in the book, seemingly giving instruction on how to treat SCP-XXXX. To summarize, these instructions state that we must believe in SCP-XXXX
Thirteen (13) experiments have been conducted on SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1 so far. The results of each experiment can be located in the Experiment Log.
Addendum XXXX-01:
Dr. █████████ (Level 4) 2/09/20██: If any personnel observing or interacting with SCP-XXXX show signs of hostility to others based on religion, begin praying obsessively when they weren’t before, begin writing words in an unknown language, or talk to others about “enlightening” experiences with SCP-XXXX, they must be terminated immediately.
