Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard airtight containment cell. The cell is to be suspended above the floor by pillars plated with silver¹ and surrounded by a moat of standard industrial-grade bleach. Any detailed investigation into SCP-XXXX’s composition is to be enacted with the aid of a remote drone, which must be thoroughly disinfected after testing is complete.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a large, amorphous pile of reddish-brown slime, with a volume of approximately 2000 liters. It is transparent, with few visual imperfections, although it does contain several thin tendrils that appear to serve a similar function as the microtubules inside a cell, giving it rigidity and shape. It has a distinct membrane around its outside surface, which has been described as similar in texture to the surface of a slice of gelatin. So far, it has been shown to be impossible to separate SCP-XXXX into two distinct pieces; although it can be stretched and molded, all attempts to slice it in two, no matter how thin or tight it has been stretched, have failed. SCP-XXXX has shown no signs of being alive, and if left alone it will fill the shape of its cell over time as would any viscous fluid.

SCP-XXXX is mostly harmless so long as it is not allowed to come into extended direct contact with any living organic matter. Should any living being- who shall be henceforth referred to as the subject- come into contact with SCP-XXXX, it will adhere to their surface and extend a pseudopod-like appendage, slowly encompassing their entire body. Although it is possible to separate the subject from SCP-XXXX, doing such requires immense force; as such, in the event of any Foundation personnel accidentally coming into contact with SCP-XXXX, it is preferred that the area in contact simply be amputated.

Once the subject has been fully encompassed by SCP-XXXX, they will be pulled into the center of its form, surrounded by a membrane that appears to be similar to the one around SCP-XXXX. During this phase, the subject will appear to slowly dissolve into the rest of SCP-XXXX, and after a variable amount of time, a genetic copy of the subject will form as an infant of its species. Once this new infant has reached a level of maturity where it can survive in open air, it will be expelled from SCP-XXXX, and begin life again. This process takes about a week to occur in full for a human, but can take place in just a few hours if the subject is a smaller organism, such as a mouse. Due to this ability to sustain and “rebirth” life, even extremely frail organisms, such as bloodborne pathogens, are able to survive within SCP-XXXX, making it a dangerous biohazard.

SCP-XXXX was recovered on ██/██/████ in ███████, Israel by Foundation operatives working in tandem with MTF Beta-7, after an unusual rise of blood-borne pathogens in the area that the local government was unable to explain or cure. After the source of the epidemic had been traced to the Church of the Knotted Leviathan, a local Christian cult, and the biohazardous properties of SCP-XXXX became clear, the burden of containing it was handed to the SCP Foundation. It was found in the basement of the church, seeping through the tiles of a massive pit similar to a broken baptismal font. Local security inside the church indicates that SCP-XXXX was considered to be extremely important to followers of the church, as its containment required the neutralization or capture of several members of the church. Among those captured was PoI-01418, “Father Isaiah”, the head priest of the church. The following is an interview of PoI-01418, conducted by Junior Researcher Indigo.

Isaiah: Release me this instant, young lady!

Indigo: Please, calm your aggression. We need only to ask you a few questions. Please remain professional.

Indigo: How long has SCP-XXXX been in the possession of your church?

Isaiah: You speak of the Golden Baptismal Font? Many years, young lady, for I have seen my disciples bathe in its waters and come out purified men.

Indigo: …I assume that means about thirty to forty years?

Isaiah: Indeed, young lady.

Indigo: …I see. And how did you come to be aware of its effects?

Isaiah: Ah, that’s a wonderful story. When I was a disciple myself, young lady, we would perform holy baptism in the Jordan River before it was soiled by modernity, and one day, one of my brothers was sucked into the water. We initially assumed he had drowned, but one day, we found a beautiful babe crying on the side of the river, a babe with his young face. It was as if the Leviathan himself had put him through the trials, and rebirthed him a new man!

Indigo: … I see. I believe that will be all. Thank you, sir.

Following the interview, PoI-01418, along with the rest of the members of the church, were administered Class C amnestics and released into their home town. PoI-01418 will continue to be tracked by the Foundation until it can be confirmed that no more anomalous events are connected to him.

The following document, translated from Hebrew, was recovered from the Church of the Knotted Leviathan during the raid.

To whoever is reading this, you will be part of the rebirth of this world, full of impurities, of savages and useless people, tied up in knots by the deadly sins. You will be a part of the rebirth of a world full of those who refuse to work, who splash mud on God’s glorious creation by mixing its colors, by deforming its face, and the witches who orchestrated it all, blinded by the knife of Satan. Through the Leviathan and the Baptismal Font, the ██████s and the █████s will be reborn as strong men who will serve in the armies of God as they destroy the false preachers and the blind animals.

In just a few minutes, you will bathe in the Golden Font, and be reborn as a soldier of God, a being of purity and greatness comparable only to God, King of Kings, Lord of Lords. And then, you will ascend to Heaven and be rewarded with eternal rest for your servitude to the Lord.
