Special Containment Procedures: Because of SCP-XXXX's position and proximity to earth, no containment is needed. SCP-XXXX is to be monitored with Site-12 telescope OPSN12 for any unusual events. APA-XXXX-1 are to be monitored routinely, also with OPSN12.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a super-earth class silicate solo-stellar planet1 with 2 moons, orbiting the star Kepler-90. Kepler-90, also called 2MASS J18574403+4918185, is a class-G main sequence star located 2,840 light-years (870 parsecs) from the Earth in the constellation of Draco. It has a surface temperature of about 6080 K and its age is estimated to be about 2 billion years, with some uncertainty. It is most known for possessing a planetary system that features the exact same number of known planets as the Solar System.

SCP-XXXX itself is not anomalous, though is the host of an anomalous animal species designated APA2-XXXX-1. An "individual" is actually a large fungi colony that is controlled by one single consciousness. Members of the APA-XXXX-1 species generally eat other fellow members due to no other animals existing on SCP-XXXX and reproduce through division.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX, also known as Kepler-90i, was discovered using the standard "transit method"3 and an AI trained by a team of scientists to identify exoplanets passing in front of their star. The foundation later observed the planet with the specialized telescope in Site-12's observatory known as OPSN12, revealing it's nature. OPSN12 features:

  • Anti-Light Delay Module - Purchased from Marshall, Carter and Dark Ltd by an undercover foundation agent, the anti-light delay module is able to show any object in the exact state it currently is. It is currently unknown how that is possible, but after a vote from Site-12 staff it was used in OPSN12.
  • NK5-Class Infrared Camera - The NK5-Class infrared camera was created by exoplanet researcher at Site-12 after for researching stars. The NK5-Class infrared camera can have a zoom of up to 5000 light years and measure celestial objects accurately.
  • Coloring AI - Developed by a researcher at Site-49 to color black and white and infrared images, it was quickly utilized by Site-12 staff for OPSN12. The researcher who developed the coloring AI, Rebecca Brown, has used it for a lot more but its current main use is exoplanet studies.

The photo taken was later leaked to the public by an undercover agent of a rival organization, which forced the foundation to cover it up as an artist's impression.

Addendum XXXX.01: Planetary Classification System

Project Proposal:

Anomalous Planetary Classification System (APCS)

As the Foundation advances in its craft and enters the cosmos, the inevitable will come - the need for classification of planets. While we are no stranger to planets and other cosmic phenomena, the foundation will need a way to classify planets by features. My proposal is that a system of classification based on orbit, star system, size and planetary features is developed so the foundation can classify planets much easier than before.

I have worked on an example of what it could look like potentially, I will share it with you if you ask.
