Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a locked document storage box in Site-██ and constantly monitored by security personnel while not in active experimental use1. Information regarding the exact location of SCP-XXXX is to be restricted to Level 4+ personnel. Authorization to remove SCP-XXXX from its container must be approved by Site-██ Administrative staff.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a dark brown leather-bound notebook containing exactly 150 pages. Its appearance is consistent with similar non-anomalous leather-bound notebooks.
SCP-XXXX was initially brought to the attention of the Foundation due to a [REDACTED], California resident's social media postings concerning a, "Magical notebook". Monitoring of the subject revealed SCP-XXXX as a mnestic device causing extreme memory retention. MTF Epsilon-7 was scrambled and deployed to confiscate SCP-XXXX. The previous owner of SCP-XXXX was located and interrogated, and later administered Class-B amnestics2 as well as Class-G amnestics3.
Upon writing in SCP-XXXX and closing the notebook, subjects are able to recall the exact contents of their writing in SCP-XXXX indefinitely4. Subjects have also been recorded to retain memories of their surroundings during their writing. Application of amnestics has been shown to have a negligible impact on a subject's memories of SCP-XXXX, classifying SCP-XXXX as a mnestic device.5
SCP-XXXX appears impervious to all damage. All stains6 on SCP-XXXX's pages appear to vanish after the notebook is closed. Liquids such as water appear to evaporate immediately after closing SCP-XXXX. Any paper torn out of SCP-XXXX demonstrate no anomalous quantities. Incisions in SCP-XXXX's pages appear to mend instantly after closing SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX appears to also be impervious to extreme hot and cold temperatures.7

Subject: RE: SCP-XXXX Experimentation RequestDr. Hart -
Your request for civilian testing of SCP-XXXX has been approved by Site-11 administrative staff. While your reputation is not spotless, we are certain — through future experimentation — you will provide the Foundation with a valuable mnestic asset.
There is no doubt that you will be cleared for amnestics testing within the year.
- Site-11 Administration
NOTE: A large number of inconclusive, repetitive or otherwise unnecessary experiments have been expunged from the below test log for the purpose of brevity. Unnecessary and excessive civilian experimentation in the following experiments is currently under review by the Ethics Council. Site-11 staff involved in approval of civilian testing are under review.

Subject drafts map of site. | 365 days | Subject is brought to temporary testing site. Subject is able to navigate site "Hedgemaze" in triple the speed of control subject D-██39. Subject is able to recall and navigate to locations of importance in site "Hedgemaze". Site demolished after testing. |

Subject correctly answered questions concerning surroundings at time of experiment, including exact time on the room's digital clock11, the liquid the subject was provided to drink, and the painting hanging above SCP-XXXX12. |
| Mr. D██████ (XXXX-S61) | Subject, suffering from short-term memory loss, instructed to write 64-character alphanumeric code in SCP-XXXX. | 14 days | Subject able to exactly recall writings in SCP-XXXX, as well as surroundings at that time. Subject: SCP-XXXX testingFelix -
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. My involvement with SCP-XXXX experimentation has kept me rather busy.
The reason I'm contacting you now is because of our most recent tests, S61 and S63, which I monitored due to my experience in the field of mental health.
These tests have led me to pursue further research into SCP-XXXX to possibly find the cause of SCP-XXXX's mnestic effects. The entirety of the medical community could benefit from such a perfect mnestic.
Ive [sic] contacted you because of your expertise in the field of mnestics development, as well as your position as a Sr. Researcher.
This project is going to go nowhere unless we get Hart off his passion project. He's been working on it for ages, but he still wants to continue his research. He's looking into a complete transition into amnestics testing; a transition I wholly object to, as I do not believe Hart should be qualified for such complex and dangerous work. So far, he has not shown restraint when it comes to these things.
Please contact me as soon as you can.

Subject: RE: SCP-XXXX amnestics testing expansionDr. Hart -
Upon close review of your experimentation on subjects XXXX-A01, A05, and A07, Site-11's administration has decided to provide you with the clearance and resources to continue testing with amnestics.
While the Ethics Committee strongly objects to civilian amnestics testing, you have the go-ahead.
These first few tests have been eye-opening. Do not let us down.

I need you to bury some… sensitive records for me. Particularly documents XXXX-046 and Subject XXXX-A25's death certificate. It would mean a lot to me, and would probably save my career.
I swear, if the Ethics Council finds out about this [EXPLETIVE] I'm dead (literally).
I look forward to seeing you in person again next Wednesday.
