Any quantity of ethanol, including beverages with a low alcohol content, are susceptible to becoming instances of SCP-XXXX-1 while inside SCP-XXXX's effective area. Manifestation of SCP-XXXX-1 is correlated with its proximity to living organisms, suggesting SCP-XXXX may have a level of cognizance in its effective area.
Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 display abnormally high temperatures, and increased alcohol content to levels of 70% or greater. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 appear to bind with living tissue upon contact and display extremely high temperatures of up to 1,800°C. Affected areas are progressively dissolved and consumed by the sample of SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 samples are capable of destroying non-organic objects, such as rubber or aluminized personal protective gear. However, SCP-XXXX-1 samples do not exhibit simple physical characteristics similar to acid, instead appearing to directly target living tissue. The only known method of preventing a complete spread of SCP-XXXX-1 in a living organism is through amputation.
