Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept
in site █████ and is to be contained in site █████ unless further
experimentation is required. No further containment protocols
must be initiated unless SCP-XXXX-1 through 5 comes into contact
with SCP-XXXX, either under experimentation or by accident,
under which circumstances SCP-XXXX will be locked in a room
with at least 4ft of thickness as requested by Dr.██████ after
incident XXXX. SCP-XXX IS NOT TO BE USED FOR PERSONAL
GAIN, PLEASURE, OR ANY OTHER PERSONAL USE; However,
SCP-XXXX is permitted to be used as a normal cassette deck or
radio by any staff member with special permission, by any staff
member with level 0 clearance, or higher levels.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a standard portable cassette deck (or more commonly known as a boombox) manufactured by a branch of the Panasonic™ electronics company "Quasar" in the mid to late 1970's, model no. GX3605YQ. Primarily composed of plastic and cheap conductive metals, SCP-XXXX requires 5 D cell batteries to operate, depending on the brand and/or quality of the battery SCP-XXXX can operate from 52 to 84 hours straight.
SCP-XXXX is 12in in length, 8in in height, and 3.5in in depth. Not much is known as to how SCP-XXXX came to possess its abilities; however, it is known that SCP-XXXX's abilities are extremely easy to use and can be harnessed with further research.
First discovered by The Brady Sullivan corporation sometime in 1983 in Manchester NH U.S.A. when the company purchased ████████ property on the ████████ █████ of Manchester. While emptying the building to prepare for renovations SCP-XXXX was discovered by a group of construction workers clearing out one of the many rooms. SCP-XXXX came with one unbranded clear cassette inside with 1960-2020 written on its face in what appears to be black sharpie and another cassette of the same making with 1900-1960 written on it. When played the crew was transported 10 years into the future to 1993 after playing the cassette for an unknown amount of time.
SCP-XXX was first discovered by the SCP Foundation on ██/██/2008 when reports of SCP-XXXX were heard of from by ███ ██ █████ ██ ██████████. The foundation swiftly secured SCP-XXXX and brought it to site ██████ but was later relocated to site █████ on 12/24/2019. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that by playing, fast-forwarding, or rewinding the tapes time travel was possible from 1900-2020 as allowed by the tapes that are possessed, later on, ██/██/1989 three addition tapes were found in ██████████ ██████ Ontario, Canada by using SCP-XXXX labeled 0-60, 1840-1900, and 1780-1840.
It has been observed that if a normal cassette is inserted into SCP-XXXX it acts as a normal Cassette deck, if any of SCP-XXXX-1 through 5 are played on any other cassette deck apart from SCP-XXXX Screams, Laughs, Sobs, and other various sounds have been heard including various vehical noises on both SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2.
Addendum:On 12/12/19 incident ███████ occurred where agent ███████ returned to present time from approximately 1864 using SCP-XXXX with authorization under order █████ and along with 3 confederate soldiers. the soldiers swiftly shot and killed agent ███████. Taskforce NTF was dispatched to site █████ and the threat was neutralized.
